I would be the worst spy of all time because on one hand I overshare like hell, but on the other hand I also have THE shittiest memory so it鈥檚 really a lose/lose scenario for everyone involved.

Aarau, a real city in our real world called Eaglemeadow
(der Aar, the eagle, in modern language shortened from edler Aar to Adler, + Au, a sort of field or meadow)
You could decimate its expected population just by calling it Birdfield instead

Guys have you heard about Aristophanes's "The Wasps"? It's not good! The translator themself on Gutenberg said the only reason to read "The Wasps" is out of a sense of completion. Aristophanes in oh-dear BC wrote a play about how the youth of Athens suck, and then he looked at himself and said, "I'm an old man, this is unfair" so he wrote a play about how the old men of Athens suck.
and then centuries later along comes Vaughan Williams, a favorite composer of those who like things tepid and British, and writes a set of music for it. Now, the music is not bad, given its origins! And the neat thing, of course, is that you can listen for the plot of "The Wasps" in the music. You have the old wasps living for their former glory like Uncle Wossit in Napoleon Dynamite; you have the adult son arguing with his father about whether it's healthy to spend all day every day volunteering for jury duty. You get the interplay between their arguments, like an inferior version of Beethoven's "Coriolan"*, and you get the return of the wasp motif when the father figure decides to quit jury duty and become a horrible old man about society instead, creating social messes for his son to follow around cleaning up.
It's a perfectly decent inferior "Coriolan," which is too bad since we're playing both in orchestra right now.
*this is unfair, because "Coriolan" is one of the better pieces of music ever written

Forgive the incomplete image, I'm on a bus.
Tumblr media
1. Is this an image from the FF7 remake?
2. Full text is, I think, "seize the awkward; embrace the uncomfortable; talk to your friends; it's totally worth it". What does this mean? I mean it's an Ad Council billboard, so it's some sort of life advice, but "talk to your friends about uncomfortable subjects" seems vague.
3. I really am pretty sure that's an FF7 image. Did the Ad Council pay to use it? Get paid to use it? Neither? Is it relevant in some way? Am I just imagining things?

and Reader, she is famous for stating her opinions firmly
If you get this, answer w/ three random facts about yourself and send it to the last seven blogs in your notifs. anon or not, doesn鈥檛 matter, let鈥檚 get to know the person behind the blog!
1. I have a loaf of sourdough bread in the oven right now. I鈥檝e been doing sourdough baking for seven or eight years now, and am on my second starter due to an Incident. Fun fact: you don鈥檛 actually need to discard starter if you work in small quantities! Other fun fact: sometimes it builds up anyway and that鈥檚 why we鈥檙e having cinnamon rolls in the morning.
2. I can鈥檛 propagate roses to save my soul. I keep trying and it keeps not working. I will work harder. Napoleon is always right.
3. I don鈥檛 think I鈥檓 an expert on anything at all. This is not to say I don鈥檛 have opinions on a lot of things - I do - and they鈥檙e often informed opinions, but even if I state them firmly I am happy to be corrected by the many many people who know more than I do.

I don't know what paddington is doing on that list, but it made me think of the time someone drew a picture of the queen with paddington after she died, and we had scores of people losing their minds at the idea that paddington bear wasn't the same kind of communist as them

Had my very first dream about flying last night. Was it amazing? Hell yeah. I spent the whole thing about three feet off the ground being pursued by laughing children trying to pull me back down. The flying was incidental to the roughhousing, although my djinni master was a) very proud of me for achieving it b) very pedantic that it was levitating, not flying
It was mostly about living for thousands of years and witnessing the end of the world and the deaths of children. My subconscious knows about the death of Hamnet and thinks Shakespeare needs a cheap getaway apartment behind the church bell tower.
