I need someone to hold my hand and say "everything is going to be okay". And I think someone out there reading this might need it too. This is me, reaching out. Our hands are full of sorrow, but they can hold better the weight of the burdens we carry, so we don't have to hold them on our own. We don't have to suffer in silence. This is me holding your hand and saying "everything will be okay."

It’s not your fault if you can’t get it together right now. It’s not your fault if all you can do is refresh social media or obsessively play video games or over-indulge in entertainment only to distract yourself from the pain because you can’t stand feeling it in full capacity all of the time. It’s not your fault if you can’t get up today, or clean or tidy up or make yourself presentable.

Distraction and rest as a form of easing pain is valuable. Anything you can do to make your pain more tolerable and less devastating is good for you! You’re not doing wrong by resting and distracting, you’re making your life somewhat livable. And it’s okay to want to be able to do more, but if this is all you can right now, know that you’re doing well. You are still as valuable and respectful as any human being, and you deserve nothing but compassion for having to deal with exhaustion and pain.

2023:

Even the smallest joy matters, even if it doesn’t last. Life is supposed to be enjoyed and it is not morally reprehensible to do so.

Your health matters more than any material thing you sacrifice it for.

Life is not supposed to be made of sacrifices.

Your dreams are not too big “for someone like you”. You are not too small to dream big.

Everything is temporary. Use the time you have to love and be loved, to enjoy this life a little, to create the relationships you seek, the safe home you need.

Community is what kept us evolving. The human thing is to ask for help.

Perfectionism is the enemy if you want to get things done. Progression above perfection, always. You don’t have to be so anxious to prove your worth, you are already enough. You can do this.

Guilt and shame are common emotions to us all, but they should not dictate your whole life.

hey if anybody needs a reminder that it's going to be okay, this is it. hope is an action we take even when we feel defeated, we are never alone. this earth is vast and there is room for you here. keep going. rest. open the door to sunlight and possibilities. bundle up against the winter storm. you'll be alright, okay? together, okay?
