Weirdtober 026/031: WandaVision– aka Scarlet Witch & Vision 🧙‍♀️🤖 – “But what is grief, if not love persevering?” 🤖🧙‍♀️ “About a month later…” 🙃 Finally… last couple of the Weirdtober series. I want to do more couples, but I think it’ll take me to 2099 to get them completed in-between freelance, work, life 😁😬 I loved WandaVision so much – so fun, weird and different – like comic books! Chose the most quoted quote from it, aside from Agatha’s song 😅 And, I loooooooooooove Wanda’s new costume. Finally. All of the actual costumes for her before were 🙅🏻‍♀️ For weeks, I wanted to do a cool gif of all the decades of WandaVision—that’ll have to definitely be a revisiting Weirdtober project in the future, because totally want to do it. The smallest homage I could do was all the glitching, plus the black & white version 😊📺 LIke Hawkeyes’ illustration, I did the whole pencil sketch version instead of the ink one on this, too – though a lot less shading and highlighting. But I dig the variations in this entire series. Some more realistic, some more classic comic style coloring. Testing out stuff and figuring out processes, always a bonus 😊 5 more to go…until the endgame. Until Weirdtober Freedom [I say this with love because I truly love this series. Weirdtober 025/031: Hawkeye and Hawkeye – aka Kate Bishop & Clint Barton 🏹🏹 – “Clint Barton, Clint Barton. What kind of Hell have you gotten us into...?” 🏹🏹 “Almost 2 months Later…” 🙃 I didn’t want to do any of the newer characters yet for the final endgame here, buuttttututututuututututButututuuttttttt – I’ve been a big fan of Kate Bishop, so that’s that.🤷🏻‍♀️ I’ve made a pact with myself that this will be the *second-last* double-illustration for the rest of this “Weirdtober-October-2020” set. Only allowing 1 more double, or should I say, ‘couple’, for the next Weridtober post so I can finally finish this. After this – as much as I want to do some team-ups… that’ll be for the next series. 😊 So don’t fret if you don’t see your favorite nerdy-geeky-super-hero, I still have a long list and there’s a’many’a’more days, months… let’s be serious… years… ahead 😬 This time around I also cut a corner – normally I sketch out the heroes at least once, sometimes twice, using a faux-pencil in Procreate, then I go back an ‘ink’ ‘em. Instead, I kind of 😅 cleaned up my pencil sketch and left it as is. I might keep this up for the rest of these because it saved me a hell-of-a-time. But maybe I’ll clean it up better… It also helped doing it that way since I started off a month or two ago with a completely different layout/reference, but then the new poster came out for the Hawkeye series, and I was like - “…here we go again”- GTA Gif. Weirdtober 023/031: Doctor Strange✨ – “We’re in the endgame now…”😳  Short ’n sweet [or at least I think it will be] – all of Weirdtober has been ‘sketch whatever I want, when I want’, which is my Mantra usually, too. Weirdtober 022/031: Gamora & Nebula 💚💙 – "I tried to kill you. Several times. But eventually, we become close, we become friends. We become sisters.”🤖👽  Don’t mess with the Space Babes […Henry Cavill/Superman is technically Space Babe™, too. 😎 Anyways]. Like Bonnie & Clyde, but Sister-wise [I honestly haven’t watched Bonnie & Clyde a lot…] Maybe more Thelma & Louise [again, probably should research it instead of naming movies/history-people with &’s], these two Guardians of the Galaxaria’s are killer. So I originally sketched these before watching the newest episode of ‘What if’ [side note: waterfalls of crying at the end… Chadwick Boseman 💔], and I was watching it while ‘inking’ them – and totally had to add a tribute to Nebula’s fantastic hair for a version. Which then I paid a little more attention to the posters and stuff and saw Gamora’s Thanos Armor, and although I was liking the reference outfit from the first GOTG, she just looked so badass in the armor I had to redraw. I also gave Gamora some extra variant-variances – Green hair, orange/yellow eyes from the comics 🤓  And because Space! Galaxy! – played with some hue/saturations in PS while dropping these baddies in their layouts. And, I did a little minimal highlights/shadows on Nebula’s Platinum-Purple-People-Eater look, and then figured ‘hey, why not add a little extra highlight love in Photoshop; and damn, I think my PS had a mind of its own. There are three “Inner Shadow” layers on her hair and they totally uplifted it to look even more like the show than I had! 🤯]  Also did some different ways of shading and highlighting on this one, so it was a lot of un practicing figuring out how to paint better in procreate. Which is why it took me until today to post. It was almost good earlier in the week, butttttttt needed some final touches that I finally figured out. 🙃 Getting in the groove. What a wild ride Weirdtober has been 😅😂  Kinda like Nebula’s arch in all the GOTG & Avengers movies. Weirdtober 021/031: Clark Kent, Kal-El aka Superman 🔻 – "There Is A Right And A Wrong In The Universe And The Distinction Should Not Be Hard To Make.”🔻 It’s a 🦅, it’s a plane🛩…. It’s… Henry Cavill! I now know *exactly* how Michaelangelo felt making David. #Chiseled 😅😂 Long story short. First time I ever saw the Count of Monte Cristo as a teen [which, highly recommend], I swooned over HC 💖 – but that’s not really pertinent 😅, but like a least the second watch [of many viewings], I told my brother “He looks like a young Superman!” Then like 10 years later?! Man of Steel 🤯🤯🧠 [and if we’re doing HC recommendations – Man from UNCLE] But Christopher Reeve Superman 💯✊ And, Tom Welling. Brandon Routh [which, okay, that movie wasn’t great, but he’s great in Scott Pilgrim and as The Atom]. The Iconic Nicholas Cage that never was… damn. Should have done that mug-shot look of him in that shiny suit. Weirdtober 020/031: Bruce Wayne aka Batman 🦇 – "“Maybe That's What Batman Is About. Not Winning. But Failing, And Getting Back Up. Knowing He'll Fail, Fail A Thousand Times, But Still Won't Give Up."🦇 Meant to post this up yesterday when I finished it in between 10 other things 🙃 😊💕 Who hasn’t played The Batman?! Adam West, Michael Keaton, Jim Carrey😉, Val Kilmer, George Clooney, Christian Bale, Ben Affleck, now Robert Pattinson… Okay, so a lot of people haven’t, but there’s been a ton of movie, tv show, comic, etc etc etc etc of him. Made it a little difficult choosing one to model my next Weirdtober after, but ultimately had to complement my Michael Pfeiffer Catwoman with the Keaton Batman [Plus, Michael Keaton-Pittsburgh!]. Love him and Batman – but my favorite part? My brain reminding me of how my brother would say “The Baht-man” when he was younger. 💖 😁 Since he didn’t have any hair to play with, I went a bit more heavy on the suit. Weirdtober 019/031: Kory Anders, Koriand'r aka Starfire ⭐️🔥 – "I am sorry to disappoint you, but I am stronger than I look." ⭐️🔥 Finally started watching @dctitans 😳 bit behind in my DC TV Shows 😅 but definitely had to illustrate @the_annadiop in all her badass glory. Loving the look of the new costume that’s coming, buttttt I wanted to bring a little comic-book love to her - melding them together 💖 Gotta keep watching, especially with season three coming soon (and a lot of great characters to potentially draw😉)! 👀💕 Also added a little more realistic-esque shading to her face and experimented with some brushes. Again, these are supposed to be like super basic like Storm, Jean Grey and Jubilee were lol, but I’m going a little further on ‘em because they’re so much fun. Weirdtober 018/031: Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman / Asteria ⚔️ – “There’s a reason I don’t have a list of villains as long as Bruce’s, Barry’s or even yours. When I Deal With Them, I Deal With Them." ⚔️ Meant to get this one done forever ago. I mean, I guess technically in October, but also really a for Wonder Woman Day and then for July 4th. And then, and then 🙃 so much going on 😭😭😭😭🤯😳🙏🏼 Wanted to show Asteria/Lynda Carter in the Golden Armor – using the WW84 Poster Pose 😁 Also added a little Wonder Woman 1975 [aka, the TV Show] costume details in the armor. Let’s get an Asteria show. My favorite part of WW84. (It’s like my own “What If…”) 🦅❤️💛💙 Check out the wings on the ones further back. Swoooon. And, went a tiny bit more realistic than I usually do. Again. This is supposed to be a ‘sketch’ series. I’m really crossing lines here. Lol Immediately when I saw the 1984 armor, I knew I had to illustrate it, and couldn’t wait to [You’ll even see some hints of it in my daily sketch series from a bit back]. And… a special surprise on this one… scroll through and find my own personal Wonder Womom/Womama 😁💖 This past Christmas I made one of my favorite heroes, my mom, 😉 into her favorite hero, Woman Woman ala Lynda Carter. I’ve always been a geek-nerd and loved comic books, but my goal for Weirdtober was to get my ass in comic-book-illustration-training and illustrate her badass self for her gift. 💖 💖 💪 [and best part was the day before she took a photo of her personal Wonder Woman ornaments.
