like my friend just said “for a group that wasn’t even nominated for one of the main prizes they sure took their time to air their performance”

I will simply say that I’m not surprised BTS didn’t win. And I’m okay with it. Dynamite is a great song. It’s incredibly fun and the performances have been a joy to watch. The performance is pure BTS, but the song itself was not theirs in the purest sense. It was a treat. A piece of ear candy with words in English written by others and given to the western world by BTS as a gift to lift our mood and frankly, to see what would happen if they took away the language barrier with the US industry. Now they know.
The real disappointment is they they were nominated for Dynamite and not for best pop album for MotS:7. That album was a true masterpiece. An exploration of the human psyche in 3 acts. It was so extremely personal and yet universal. It was musically diverse and thematically consistent. It was a concept album without getting too bogged down in the story so each song still works on its own. THAT was the nomination they deserved but would never get because it’s in Korean rather than English. And that is a real shame.

And FINALLY! BTS was amazing as always! Top notch performance and they went far beyond what others would have done. We all knew they would rebuild the set - but it’s still stunning to see how much effort they and their team put in to make everything perfect. That’s the sign of a superstar. Nothing is done part way. Nothing half assed.
And yeah - Tae, I see what you did there! Make sure everyone knows that you are singling live for real. So many of the performances tonight were done with the backing track turned up so high you couldn’t hear the real voice. (Did T Sw*Ft even have her mike turned on?) Props to all the artists that aren’t afraid to sound real on stage (special shout out to Doja Cat for singing and dancing and not faking either).
Anyway - I’ve seen and heard what I came for. Have a good night y’all!
I’m liking this Grammys set up. It’s nice seeing artists performing and respond to each other’s performances.

Congratulations to Beyoncé! But she looks so uncomfortable in that dress that I’m feeling phantom pain watching her.

I think Cardi B is so interesting and smart and charismatic. Megan Thee Stallion always impresses me and she dominates the stage and I love her rapping voice. But WAP? I feel like such a prude when I listen to it - I can’t handle the embarrassment.

I love Miranda Lambert. I LOVE HER 😍!
Also, I’ve never heard of this Mickey Guyton person and I’ll say her brand of country isn’t generally my cup of tea, but... her voice was amazing and her lyrics are even better. There needs to be more black voices on country radio!

I’m embarrassed by how much I’m enjoying Bruno Mars mustache.
