Manipur Violence: Venting out...

These mainlanders be waking up now that Manipur is in total ruin and chaos, where were they since May? All these politician, actors, celebrities...where were they? It takes women to lose their dignity for these people to wake up from their slumber... shame on them, and shame on all who stayed quiet.

A child being burned alive in front of his parents... women being paraded naked and molested... homes destroyed... lives taken... Where were they? Now that it's finally trending on social media, these celebs are showing how 'shocked' they are? F*ck your shock and f*ck your sympathy I say. The centre and state has been quiet all this time, doing nothing and now you are showing your apology and condolence?

Like always, for mainland India, North East is just a territory, the people don't mean sh*t. Northeasterners are Indians only when convenient to you, only when you need to showcase your so-called diversity.

Really not a fan when people jump to the worst conclusion immediately. Like when it’s clear someone hasn’t been educated on the nuance of a historical event or they have an ignorant opinion about something because they probably haven’t given it much thought, and people are quick to point fingers and exclaim “you have this opinion because you’re racist and hate xxxx group!” or “you’re transphobic because you said this off-color thing!” etc..

Honestly yeah there are definitely people out there who have unconditional disdain for certain groups of people who really do deserve to be ostracized and even decked in the face I agree. But I’m finding that most of the time when an average person has ignorant opinions or misapprehensions about people it comes from a lack of knowledge and not so much hatred. And I’ve found it, in my experience, a lot more helpful to listen to people and then offer to present facts or my perspective in a civil manner before I judge them to be hateful or closed-minded. And a lot of the time people do stop and reconsider. Even if they don’t change their minds immediately they back off and have a think about it, which is a success in my book. I feel either educating someone or simply walking away when you don’t have the patience is a lot less harmful than screaming accusations.

Every single one of us, including myself, has holes in our education and have held certain beliefs that we now feel are wrong. Everyone is uninformed on a multitude of topics and some people are going to be uneducated on topics you find important or are passionate about. There is a place for rage and anger and I’m all for ripping apart the people that truly do deserve it, but I feel the problem is that so many people in leftist arenas are more ready to fight and hate people than they are ready to educate and listen. It’s easy to hurl insults but it takes patience to teach and to learn. The trigger-happy behavior makes you look like a belligerent fool rather than the cultured, well-educated, understanding person you claim to be.
