Child!me imagined that the inside of högsdalstoppen looked like this
Tumblr media
which as a concept confused me greatly. how did they stabilize all the trashbags etc. why did they not burn them in the nearby trash burning facility? (right next to högdalstoppen) instead of building a high pile of it and then covering it with soil.
etc etc
The highest peak of Stockholm is a literal garbage pile (that has been transformed into a hill. A garbage hill)
Tumblr media
Neat….. 🙃
I am just a pile of trash, transformed into a hill
Tumblr media
In the background you can BTW see modern swedish garbage disposal. We burn what can be burnt, and turn it into electricity.
Garbage piles no more!

This is an old post. Later i learned it is not actually trash underneath that hill.
The hill is made of the removed earth and rocks/blown of mountain bed created when making south stockholms green line metro tunnels. So it is an artificial hill that is build of well. What is usually in the ground (if perhaps not normally in just that combination and/or soil pattern of a natural sörmland hill)
This made so much more sense then how i imagined it in my brain as a child
(I imagined that it some sort of landfill of household trash they had just thrown some soil over. Which gave me all type of questions about how far i needed to dig into the hill to find hundreds of plastic bags with household trash in them. This is not actually the case)

So i have now left the sörmland countryside behind on my commute and reached the stockholm surburbs
Tumblr media
At least no more mountains
But that skyline remain bizare for sweden, country of all of one skyscraper (turning torso in... malmö)
Stockholm got zero skyscraper. Nada. So the skyline keeps feeling bizare
Oh yeah those stockholm well known MOUNTAINS and skyscrapers...
Pokemon go has updated their graphics and...
Tumblr media
And this horizon when i commuting from a sörmland small town to a stockholm surburb is bizare 😂
Sure the houses in my surburb got 4 stories but not... like that lol
Also! Sörmland suddenly got mountains??
(Literally live on top of a ice age created plateu. It is very flat... not a mountain to see)

Swedes really should tell more nerdy jokes about our university point system being called: "hp"
Like:
"A grad degree is 120 hp, which is quite alot of hit points to defeat on your own"

Or is that like, the students DEFEAT the hp of the uni courses, and then like. Each uni degree is the students getting a new level in being a university student?
That would make alot more sense
If we made a table top rpg of swedens university system that is, something that no one, me included, wanna do but!
If!
(side note; the uni hp, högskolepoäng, in reality represent hours. In some complicated hour to högskolepoäng math system i can't quite recall.
But that is what they actually represent. Hours studying with a passing grade. So those 300 hp, is just me sitting in class and writing exams hours upon hours pfft.
Not as fun as hit points!!)
In the scenario of swedish university points, (hp) being ones health points (hp)
I, with my bachelor degree and master degree woould have a hp of a bit over 300 hp
So clearly i am some sort rpg mini boss?
People who has a doctor degree in something would have a hp bar to strike fear into mere mortals (students)

One thing that helps me calm down about intra-left-wing sniping and the reality that the big center-left coalition inevitably includes a lot of ridiculous nonsense, is to remember how ubiquitous seances were to progressive politics in the 19th century.  Like, e.g., Frederick Douglas had to go to so many seances. Many, many political strategy sessions around the country had to include feedback from the ghost of Moses who spoke to us via morse code.

sometimes I think about how brussel sprouts, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, kale, collard greens, savoy cabbage, kohlrabi, and gai lan are all the same species, and i understand why biologists are constantly furious about taxonomy
