While I’m going down a terrible Fate rabbit hole and as fixating and loving Gil and Enkidu’s relationship… so as someone’s who is like “wow all the Gilkidu fans as so crazy they’ve actually read the Epic of Gilgamesh” I say as I search my local library to see if they have a book of it I can read. So with that in mind do you have any recommendations, as to where or what is the best version of the Epic to read? Is there like a book? Is it online? What version? Clay tablet…?
I recommend Andrew George’s Penguin Classics The Epic of Gilgamesh: a New Translation.
The original text has very little in common with the garbage Fate interpretation, and what with the prevalence of Enkidu’s absurd portrayal as an innocent airheaded forest fairy, I’m quite doubtful all Gilkidu fans are really all that familiar with the source material unfortunately.
