I'm only identify as an American when the Great British Bake Off loses the plot on food or when discussing King Chuck
Remaking an earlier post to clarify some of the wording
Note that strength in sense of identity doesn't necessarily mean you love living in your country, state, region, etc. nor does it mean you uncritically agree with the government of your government, state, municipality, only that you find it important to your understanding of who you are culturally.
Please reblog this version instead, the notes have gone insane on the earlier version with clumsier wording and I really do want to learn more about this. Also I will be making a non-U.S. specific version of this post soon. As usual, if you're not from the U.S. please don't vote on this poll but feel free to shoot me a DM for a screenshot of the results in progress!
My cousin watered the markers for me when I was a wee child. She usually did this during my naps or when I was swimming. After she left (ran away? Unclear) and I got a new set I was convinced that someone did something to my markers because they worked last time.
Yen: If you don't, you'll never outlive Valdo Marx
Jaskier: Alright hand it over
Yen: See how cooperative people can be when you speak their language Geralt?
Geralt: 🙄
To be the good little Viscount, Jaskier develops a Victorian Novel Disease (basically tuberculosis). Now, Jaskier had returned to Lettenhove to be as dramatic as possible while sick.
Now Geralt, with the help of Yennefer, had developed a potion that would cure Jaskier. The only problem is that Jaskier is currently enjoying all the attention he’s getting from dying and wants to be dramatic a bit longer
Whether or not the villain deserves to die isn't the point. The point is that the hero doesn't deserve to be a killer
it is crazy how “if this childrens show doesn’t kill their villain at the end it’s irredeemable media” became such a popular opinion here. like people were calling steven universe fascist apologia. and to be clear I don’t even think that would be the case for non childrens media, either. perhaps holding every single story up to the same standard of “does it follow the acceptable narrative path or is it evil propaganda” isn’t the most anti-fascist thing, either. maybe.
