Silly question for God of War fans - if you have teared up/cried while playing/watching Ragnarok, how many times and which scene was it?

My count is 6 so far - Fenrir's death, last flashback with Faye ("To grieve deeply is to have loved fully"), talk with Atreus during Ragnarok ("You feel their pain because that is who you are"), Letting go, Brok's funeral and Vallhala's ending

🎨 ~ Color Theory & Design Tutorial ~ 🖌️

I've been thinking about making tutorials for a while now. So I thought I'd share about a subject I'm really passionate about! I did my best to make this beginner friendly & also as a review sheet 💜

(Please note this is from my own knowledge/experience! There are waaaay more resources, like books & videos, out there that are super helpful and go further in depth of this topic!)

Yes!!! The visuals are the best part!!! Video games (and animation too) have the ability to the some crazy ass shit without the ties of real world physics. The Garm fight where Atreus runs up the chain, after they get knocked off of Baldur’s dragon, hell the Valkyries alone might be a nightmare let alone Freya’s wings. Some small but truly breath taking moments in the game that would be close to impossible to replicate into live action just make me so nervous about quality alone.

I don’t see a future where should this play out, it goes well. Between the Hollywood-ification of it (don’t get me started on Hollywood actors trying VA oh my goood) and the TV/film fans. It makes me sick to my stomach to think of the treatment any poor kid will get that will inevitably get casted as Atreus or Angrboda or Thrud. The treatment of children (or even young adults looking at Bella Ramsey) playing LA versions of these characters is so unfair to them. That’s an insane pressure that I think even experienced actors would steer clear of.

Moreover with how short form shows have been lately with an 8-13 ep max count, it will lose so much important secondhand lore. I don’t see a world where we have the stories that we have now of Sigrun, the worlds built like the war between the elves, or even some stuff with even more major characters like Mimir, Brok, Sindri, and Freya. If they start with the Norse saga they HAVE to build more background content for Kratos with it to have context for people never playing the games. And that WILL cut other stories where, should they commit to this, they should have just began with Greece.

Live action in itself can be good. TLOU’s is the highest achievement to date that I’ve seen of this. But I know if they wanted to make a show adaptation animation would be so much better a format. Animation is at its peak right now with stuff like Arcane, Blue Eye Samurai, or even movies like Nimona and Spiderverse. It’s just so tiring to see one good piece of non LA media come out and just the immediate “Oh this story is worth telling in this format so we will be taking this” it’s exhausting.

i never wanted a God Of War Live Action in the first place but now i DEFINITELY dont want a ragnarok LA at all 💀 i really pray to god they stick with doing 2018 ONLY for the 20th anniversary because i can tell the discourse is gonna be trash and even worse since most ppl dont tend to care or disrespect about video games as an art form and are way more stubborn with films/TV Shows and what not. I really just want that new GOW game after (or before) the LA no more LA’s afterwards thats it thats all i ask 🙏🏾 they shouldve stuck to the greek saga for the live action tbh LOL it feels way too soon to do a norse LA

Live action adaptations are one of my least favorite things in Hollywood right now, like yes there’s good ones like TLOU but the point of it is they simply do not need to be made.

We see so fucking often with thing like the live action ATLA and even to some extent the shitty Uncharted movie that came out. There are certain scenes or moments that will not translate to live action. But the tragedy is, they do not care.

If Hollywood can cash in on an IP that’s already beloved and established and not have to do the work of making a world that’s comprehensive and enthralling at the same time.

And on top of that, video games and animation as an undervalued art form in general. It’s viscerally upsetting to see, even if it’s a good adaptation, take away from the original.

I deeply dread what this means for GOW especially in terms of the more controversial points of the games. I love these games and I am in no way looking forward to even just the unnecessary Angrboda hate all over again. It’d be better off if it got canceled before it even began production
