Starting to feel the urge to write a fic about very feral Dark Jak absolutely showering Daxter with whatever his very messy version of affection is because seeing a scarred up but gritty Daxter fight and shoot got him very hot and bothered.

broke: ford has "the face of the man destined to destroy bill" because that man was actually stan the whole time

woke: that prophecy was referring to both stan twins. destroying bill was a team effort. stan dealt the final blow, but that doesn't erase ford's thirty-one-year struggle against bill. the only reason why stan was able to do that is because he and ford could impersonate each other. neither stan nor ford could have defeated bill alone and survived. and this works better with their shared character arc; defeating the big bad by putting aside their conflict and working together to take him down. the point isn't that ford "was never really the hero" or whatever, the point is that he had to learn he can't do everything by himself (and that he had to reconcile with his brother). ford is the hero. and so is stan. they're twins; they both have the face of the man destined to destroy bill.

I can't believe there are still people who think Steven should've killed White Diamond, or any of the diamonds.

This isn't like, a post about whether or not the diamond authority deserved to sentenced to death in an international court of law (they're dictators, of course they deserve to die) but rather whether it's fair to have Steven Universe, a fourteen year old child, be the one to kill them.

Like, let's discount the fact that the diamonds are a metaphor for a second, let's put that aside.

The emotional crux of the show is how it's unfair that every adult in Steven's life expects him to be like his mother and do the things she did, especially at his young age. Steven doesn't get to just be a kid, he's expected and raised to be the eventual leader of the Crystal Gems. Garnet's the de facto leader until Steven starts getting a handle on his powers and by the end of the show he's the one calling the shots.

In another show, this would've been an amazing improvement for Steven, a show of how far he's come, but psychologically speaking Steven Universe plays the ramifications of being a child protagonist completely straight.

Steven went full godzilla over accidentally killing Jasper, can we all just analyze the text for two seconds and realize that he would've had his breakdown a lot sooner if he'd killed one of the diamonds, on purpose?
