hi to anyone who has stuck around while i’ve been gone. i’m not returning to this blog (or my main one, really), but i wanted to thank anyone who’s still reading things i wrote like 3 and 4 years ago.

it’s been a ride but stepping away from all of tumblr has at least helped my mental state. i did end up losing my mom last year and that was really hard, but i’m doing well and working on other things.

this community meant a lot to me at one point, and i won’t forget that. all my friends were great and i’m so glad we had the chance to talk and read each other’s art. 

but it’s time for me to move on. i’ve been on tumblr for like 11 years or something and i’m finally ready to give it up.

just putting this out there but in the same way that you should not trust a man who says his favorite movie is american psycho or fight club, you should not trust a man who says that london (2005) is a good movie because he will, inevitably, disappoint and hurt you.

Reminder that Southern states have large poor and/or POC populations and hating on them for issues that are caused by voter suppression isn't helpful.

#the prison industrial complex is alive and thriving in florida #and prisoners parolees and incarcerated people are not allowed to vote here #so of course the only blue counties are the ones with the highest populations of people #even though huge populations are being held in the rural areas but they're legally being barred from voting in their own interests

i know i’m not always the most active on this blog anymore and i haven’t really written anything in months but i just wanted to let y’all know that i might disappear. the blog won’t, i’m not in the mood to delete or anything, but on top of covid and american politics, my mom is slowly losing her battle against colon cancer. 

just a heads up that, if i disappear for days at a time, i’m probably going to be okay, i’m just not right now

The sweltering afternoon sun beats down on Steve’s skin as heavily as the breaths coming from the two dueling figures just a few feet in front of him.

Sharp, metallic clangs resound in the air, loud and rhythmic. Each step calculated, each potentially incapacitating blow evaded.

Steve keeps his eyes on Rumlow, then Rollins, trying to catch a glimpse of some new moves he could add to his repertoire, when, suddenly, the scarred man meets the ground with a harsh thud.

Rumlow stands above Rollins, the sharpened blade of his sword dangerously close to his throat, Rollins’ own weapon just out of reach.

“Your turn, your Highness.”

It’s thrown out there, the words slipping from Rumlow’s lips carelessly. He doesn’t even look at Steve when he speaks, dark brown eyes locked intently on Rollins. Any other person would think to address Steve with a little more respect, but there’s no room for that in the middle of these practices.

They’re all men on the same ground, here.

my favorite thing about “captain america: the winter soldier” is that if you strip them of their supersoldier names the title is literally “steve rogers: bucky barnes”
