I am just. So weirdly tickled by this Watcher situation. Like yes, initially I was very disappointed and upset but honestly now I just think it's funny. I can't remember the last time a creator or group of creators misread the room this hard. Like they really thought they were cooking with this one. They had a countdown to this. They announced their paywalled streaming service with their whole chests and expected rapturous applause. Instead, there has been a non-stop chorus of boos and thrown tomatoes for days now. They would have probably gotten a better reaction if they had posted a video where they sprayed a dog in the eyes with soapy water.
It's all so pleasantly... low-stakes. The consequences are nonexistent. It's not like the Ned Fulmer situation, where a friend group is destroyed, real life relationships are ended, and young children are potentially subjected to the trauma of divorce. Nah, all that's happening here is three idiots will be making a lot less money than they wanted. Maybe they'll learn something, maybe they won't. Either way, they brought it entirely upon themselves, and that makes it okay to laugh at in my books. So I will!

Tumblr is unique bc like. It's collaborative shitposting and you can't opt in or out. You can just say something about your day then an evil wizard shows up to turn your post into something humorous
Every other site is just one and done, but here a post is a welcome mat to be funnier than you

Working at the sex shop really did rewire my brain. There was basically no topic that was too taboo to talk about, and what little propriety I’d had evaporated. I’d be out walking and chatting with friends about erotica I’d had to read that day only to be shushed and realize people were staring at me.
It always struck me as a little bit silly but I learned to curb myself for others comfort levels. Mostly.
But I have one distinct memory of decorating holiday cookies with my parents and my grandmother. My mom had worked in a sex shop back in her day, and I never hid my line of work from my family, so I was telling a work story.
I was conscious that my dad was slightly more sensitive, so I was using pretty broad descriptions, but I happened to mention silicone lube and my nana asked, “What’s that?”
I went into full sales mode. Focused on the little reindeer cookie I was decorating I started info dumping, “Oh, it’s pretty great. Water based lubricants get absorbed through vaginal mucous membranes, but silicone is too dense and our body can’t absorb it the same way. So once you apply some silicone you never have to worry about chafing, and a little goes a long way. It’s especially popular with older women, because they start producing less natural lubricant and absorb water based lubes so quickly.”
There was a silent beat after this statement.
I looked up.
My mom and grandmother were looking at me with rapt attention, and I belatedly realized I was addressing two older women who probably would welcome extra lubrication.
And then there was my dad, blushing so pink with embarrassment that I thought he was about to faint.
“I can talk about something else,” I offered in apology to my dad.
“Like hell! He can go in the other room, tell me more!” My nana declared. My dad scampered off to busy himself in another room while I answered their questions and talked about brands and pricing.
I slipped them each a small bottle of silicone lube for the holidays.

This farmer couple used silicon to create molds in the shape of their own feet. They then planted turnips using these molds. As the turnips grew, they filled the molds and took on the shape of their feet.

Watching the 911 ladder truck on Buck's leg episode, and my bucktommy heart can't help but thinking about how it would go if it happened now.
If Buck and Tommy had been on like 4 dates, and still figuring things out. They've only kissed like 3 times total, and Tommy can't help it but he's definitely smitten. And then there's a whole firetruck on Evan's leg and he's an hour away on a call. Watching the news on his phone as he waits for everyone to load up on the helicopter to go back to base. And his heart is beating so fast he's pretty sure it'll come out of his chest. He can barely breathe, watching this kid with a bomb impede the 118 from helping Evan. Thank god someone else is qualified to fly this helicopter back because Tommy can't think straight.
He watches the whole way back, nearly sobs when the community comes together to get the truck off him. Confused when the guys practically push him out of the chopper and he's on a roof. A hospital roof. And he's then he's running. He sees Chim and Hen and their confused looks first. Can barely get the words out. "How is he?! How's Evan? Where is he?!" And they take pity on him and tell him he's in surgery and the doctors are pretty sure he'll be ok. And then the rest of the team, and Evan's sister, show up. And he waits. And waits. And tries to play it cool. Tries to look like a worried friend and not a guy whose heart might get ripped out of his chest if Evan dies. Then the doctor says it went well and they're sure he'll walk again and he's in recovery. Soon after, they all have people to get home to so it's just him and Maddie. And she gives him a knowing smile, tears in her eyes. And he breaks down. Quiet tears running down his face.
And when the nurse tells them they can wait in his room, Maddie tells Tommy to go ahead. She's getting coffee and food. And so he sits with Evan's hand in his, stares at him. Takes comfort in seeing his chest rise and fall as he breathes. And when Evan wakes up, and Tommy looks like he hasn't slept in a week, and still has his hand in his, Tommy panics for a second. Forgetting no one knows. And then Evan smiles. Squeezes his hand and thanks him for being there. And finally, after hours, Tommy can breathe again.
