Today's lesson is about proper containment and disposal of subject.
People I cannot stress this enough, never assume that the subject is completely dead. While waiting for evac, this particular subject had been sealed inside for everyone's safety. Unfortunately it managed to render the bathroom uninhabitable.

So uh I made a wand.
Started with a rose bush branch I hallowed out, I carved a swirl into it and then braided some garden wire in a complete loop, finally I stuck a crow feather inside as a core.
Not sure why I made it but I guess I need this. If anyone could help me with the "symbolism" I just created that would wonderful.

If "doing your best" means pushing yourself to the point of burning out and breaking down, then that's not your best - that's an unhealthy, self-destructive pattern which won't get you anywhere in the long run. Allow yourself time to recharge - cause you can't keep using a battery you never charge!

🔮Crystals that CANNOT be put into water🔮
A general list of crystals that absolutely should not be put into water due to their toxicity or dissolubility, this is a general list meaning that you should continue to do your own research if you ever want to put one of your crystals in water!
Fluorite (especially SALT water)
Selenite
Apophyllite
Tangerine Quartz
Gypsum
Lepidolite
Opal (although Australian Boulder Opal is generally safe, because it not porous)
Azurite
Apatite
Halite
Malachite
Turquoise
Ulexite
Labradorite
Celestite
Pyrite
Hematite
Most crystals that end in ‘ite’ is a good guide for ones that cannot go in water
Many of the crystals on the unsafe list will completely dissolve when placed in water, or they will lose their shine. Either way, play it safe when it comes to these minerals. Some of these can even become toxic when dissolved and absolutely should not be ingested.
If you ever do make a mistake that damages your minerals, don’t be hard on yourself! Remember that experience is the best way to learn. If you are in doubt, do research or select a different cleansing method.

Succulents that look like something out of this world
Clear Succulent Plant

Rose Succulents

Bunny Succulents
Tumblr media
Some of the fantastically strange plants like the mermaid tail or the opal-like clear succulents look like they’re from another planet and something that aliens keep on their alien desks in their alien offices.
If you want to get one of these peculiar succulents for yourself or for your loved ones as a gift, the mermaid one is called a crested Senecio Vitalis while the clear one is the Haworthia Cooperi plant.
Haworthia succulents are popular because of their “leaf windows” which let in a lot of light for the plant. The “windows” also minimize water loss from evaporation because the rest of the plant is buried underground. Haworthia plants also have accordion-like roots that pull them deeper into the ground so that they can thrive.

Haworthia plants are easy to take care of and are great succulents for beginners: just pop them on the windowsill and they’ll be happy. Especially if you plop it into some gritty soil.
In general, succulents need plenty of light and you need to rotate them occasionally so all parts of it can enjoy the sun and to help it grow straight.
Overwatering is a big no-no, so check the soil regularly: if it’s dry, get your watering can ready. Also, keep in mind that succulents need more water during Spring and Summer and barely need any in Fall and Winter when they’re ‘resting.’ Finally, wipe the dust off your succulents to help them grow and become your picture-perfect plant-pals.

Witch Bottles
Tumblr media
Witch bottles are  countermagical devices used as protection against other witchcraft. In earlier times, bottles were designed as a way to protect oneself from malicious witchcraft.
Archaeology Magazine’s Marshall J. Becker says, “Although the American example probably dates to the 18th century—the bottle was manufactured around 1740 and may have been buried about 1748—the parallels are clear enough to establish its functions as an anti-witch charm. Such white magic was practiced widely in colonial America, enough so, that Increase Mather (1639-1732), the well-known minister and author, inveighed against it as early as 1684. His son, Cotton Mather (1663-1728), advised in favor of its use in particular situations.”
Per JSTOR Daily’s Allison C. Meier, practitioners filled the vessels with an assortment of items, but most commonly urine and bent pins. The urine was believed to lure witches traveling through a supernatural “otherworld” into the bottle, where they would then be trapped on the pins’ sharp points. The reasoning behind this was that the bottle would absorb any ill intent a witch would send your way back to her in the form of stabbing pains in the bladder. The other reason why using your own urine comes up a lot in traditional witchcraft is because humans are animals too – using your own urine in a protection spell is quite literally marking your territory!
Over 100 witch bottles, mostly from the 17th to 19th centuries, have been unearthed in the UK alone—under houses, in ditches, streams, and graveyards. Typical burial sites were in chimneys or under hearths—evil spirits were thought to enter houses via such thresholds. It’s believed that the chimney was seen at the time as somewhere that evil spirits might enter and this idea translates across northern Europe.
“It would be wonderful to be able to get a better understanding of how these contents relate to one another, and whether or not they are grouped, and how this relates to the transmission of medical knowledge,” says Nigel Jeffries. “Clearly the selection of the contents was not random and must reflect contemporary beliefs in some way. We would expect some patterns.
“The history of witchcraft has long fascinated the public and we hope to reposition and recalibrate our understanding about the use of these bottles as well as understand them as a national collection: where are they now, are they curated in a museum, where were they found, and what do they contain?”

To young women in the BDSM community:
Being young and a woman in the BDSM scene is fun.
Sure, you’ve got a flooded inbox of guys wanting to play with you and a seemingly endless fountain of opportunities. Hell, even some guys may want to buy you things! But, before you get to the fun, you really need to make sure you’re safe. It would be kind of embarrassing to be found dead in a ditch with pink fluffy handcuffs on (or worse). Here’s some advice I’d like to give to girls first starting out, possibly looking into their first BDSM relationship.
Don’t settle for the first self-proclaimed Dom to walk into your inbox!
Sure, it’s enticing. But, you really have to examine the person you’re going to give your trust too first. This is the person you’re going to give your control over to (temporarily) and you have to be sure that they’re 1) trustworthy 2) not trying to manipulate you just for sex and 3) a good person. Because at the end of the day, a BDSM dynamic is more of a relationship than just sex.
Someone may come into your inbox, say that they’re compatible with your kinks and want to make your fantasies true, but you have to look at it rationally. Don’t let your hormones take over your decision.
You’re young. You have so much time to find a good dynamic/relationship, don’t rush into it. But also, dip your toes in the water and find out what you like!
Always be on the lookout for the red flags.
If you feel that weird uncertain feeling in your gut, say bye, Felicia!
Here are some common ones.
Young Doms tend to have more red flags as they’re more inexperienced (not always, this is a generalization).
If they don’t ask for your ID before playing with them, that could also be a red flag. As a 19-year-old with babyface, every good Dom I’ve had has asked for it in advance. Consider it a green flag if they do.
If they aren’t concerned about your safety as a young woman, that’s a serious red flag.
Your safety comes before EVERYTHING.
Always make sure to text at least one friend the address of where you’re going to be going beforehand.
Meet up before playing just for a coffee date. If they’re not willing to go on a lil date with you beforehand and just want to play right away, get the hell out of there! Make sure it’s in a public space. Never meet up with someone directly at their house.
Check that they’re STD free and/or use the correct protection.
Always play with a safe word.
Optional: bring pepper spray or a knife with you, just in case.
Talk with them at least a week in advance to playing. If they aren’t willing to put in that effort, drop ‘em.
Make sure they know and respect your limits.
Have a friend call you 30 minutes into your first play-date. If you’re in trouble, pretend that they’re your sibling and you have to go help. (This has helped me before, I was roofied without my knowledge and was uncomfortable with the guy so when my friend called me it was a saving grace. It wasn’t 30 minutes after until I was driving when it kicked in. Yikes.)
And lastly, make sure it’s the right person.
Your first BDSM dynamic is special! Hell, every dynamic is special. Make sure you’re not just looking to get spanked and slapped around by anyone, make sure you have the right Dom.
There are sooooo many girls who have rushed into BDSM that have found themselves in the lap of an abuser. Make sure you’re in the lap of a caring person who also shares your kinks and is willing to do them with you safely!
I probably sound like your mom lecturing you but, as a 19-year-old girl, these are the things I’d wish I would have listened to. And remember, you can always say no. Use it like it’s your goddamn superpower.
Feel free to put your own advice below to the post to help out!
