significance of the geography and why the ascent to pilos peak could be referring to ascending to celestia - and why it perhaps is not celestia, but another location.

in his book, leonard is trying his best to reach pilos peak, but sadly, he can’t and instead succumbs to the cold. he’s explored practically everything else, though, and is a wonderful inventor who built a contraption we know now as the wind glider! (he draws inspiration from the fairy tale amber gives you in her story quest, meaning the fable is very, very old)

despite being very accomplished, leonard did not find himself in possession of a vision. 

pilos peak is impossible to climb, and as leonard slowly dies, he looks up to the sky and sees a falcon soaring high above the mountain. 

i originally theorised that the falcon was venessa, legendary hero of mondstadt who ascended to celestia for her heroic deeds, and that leonard was also trying to reach celestia, only to fail because he does not have a vision and is therefore not an allogene, who are given the right to try ascend. 

with this theory in mind, it would mean that ascending to celestia is practiced in the exact same place where we, the traveler, 2,600 years in the future, go into the abyss. i had to cross out the theory that the entrance to celestia is the same as the abyss with the evidence of venessa in her falcon form she turned into after she ascended because leonard and pilos peak outdate venessa by about 1,400 years. this is when the lawrence clan were benevolent towards mondstadt (and would be until venti returns from slumber), funding expeditions to sal vindagnyr and pilos peak, led by venerare. 

however, the significance of the height of pilos peak’s entryway to the abyss and the appearance of it in the cutscene in the unreconciled stars event still stands.

the unreconciled stars event really took a huge chunk of lore from newer players. it covers the importance and value of constellations as ambitions and the will to have a wish carried out, as well as the strength of scaramouche, who could wake himself up from the influence of a possible connection to celestia or the abyss. it also is so integral to the history of mondstadt’s geography as the country directly underneath celestia while also being in possession of pilos peak, which in our current time, is known as musk reef.

hello!! it’s me again. i just finished rereading all your completed genshin fics. and i just wanted to ask what your favourite books are or is there any literature work/piece that influenced your way of writing? 🥺 I can’t explain it but I just love the way your writing feels!

if i’m being honest, it’s a lot of things! i read sooo much as a kid and at a high level because i was pretentious. recently, i’ve been reading i’m thinking of ending things, and lots of classics (my favorites being pride and prejudice, frankenstein, and any edgar allen poe)

but i also read a lot of poetry nowadays (walt whitman, carol ann duffy, the poetry that they post on the london underground advert spaces lol). i also watch a lot of wes anderson films, which definitely factors in to my tendency to have a lot of matter-of-fact statements in my writing. my favorite is the royal tenembaums!!

i read a lot of other fanfiction, too. more often than not, i parrot some of my favorites and try to apply them to a voice i hear a character narrating a story in. dialogue and narrative voice really drives my works. (pls pls pls check out beldou, fischls, and crazychatlady if you’re into chiluc like i am)

really, i get a lot of inspiration from real life. a lot of the stuff that happens in my fics (sans the vampire-slaying, ghosts, and demons) comes from stuff i see, studf i do, and stuff i think about when doing the most mundane things.
