I really got into the 80's and 90's anime aesthetic, especially Kenichi Sonoda's Bubblegum Crisis lately. So here's good old Spyke and my best attempt at rendering her in that style. I'm very very happy with how the render came out, and I consider it a complete success! My earler attempts weren't all that successful, but this one really came through.

I also learned a lot which will help me with shading, shapes and especially rendering in the future thanks to this piece. Look at that cyberarm!

Sometimes when inspiration hits, you gotta grab it by the horns before it gets away. I also really wanted to draw Jolene again. As a bonus I also decided to clean up the logo of her "band" because I really like how it looks.

Would you believe it took me 3 years to finish this piece? Well, it's not really fair. It took me maybe 1 hour in 2020 to do the old, original sketch (which the curious can find here) and then 3 extra hours in 2023 to finish this sketchy version. I'm happy with how he's turned out!

He's yet another Cyberpunk 2020/RED character, this time an old Tech with 4 cyberarms. Old Hormiga as he's affectionately called is a garage owner alongside his wife, living away his "retirement" in Night City... How quiet this retirement is, who's to know!

Bleach is back baby! If somehow someone's taken a peek at the archives from my... art archive blog, you'll know some of the very first drawings I've ever shared and been remotely proud of were of Bleach characters.

With TYBW being animated in late 2022, I have finally decided to finish the mang! I had dropped it wayyy back sometime in the 2010s because I wasn't feeling the Sternritter fights. But I'm glad I finally finished now, it's a lot more fun than what teenager me recalls, and the art can be very striking.

For the first time since 2014 literally, I've tried my hand at drawing in the style of Bleach. This character is an entirely selfish imagining of myself as a shinigami. I will not apologize.

Happy 2023! On the list of things I got this holiday season, there was an Apple Pencil for my iPad. Being a mainly digital artist, it's become a chore to find ways to draw on the go the way I'm used to. Thankfully with this new fancy toy it's become easier than ever! I'm very happy with how it's turning out, and I have to say Fresco isn't a bad app at all, I learned it quite fast. Any way, here's Phylia the skateboarding witch again. i still need to roll up her character sheet for TRPGs.

Another artwork of Spyke! This one is heavily inspired by style of the artist Arkestar whom I discovered last year.

I had a lot of fun with it, and even had a couple of weird challenges to overome, like how to cleanly draw the cables. The trick, as it so often is, was the pen tool.

You know you’re in deep when you start creating original Star Wars species. This one was a lot of fun to find ideas for. Thought I’d make one of them a Grey Jedi just for fun as well. Originally created in one of my character design classes, I expanded on the lore of the species a bit later on. Might share that whole thing in the future.
