nevaeh was surprised to see someone studying sheet music in a public place while on the phone. it all became clear what was going on as the male explained. she gave him an arched eyebrow in response and softly said, “i don’t know if i’m the best judge of talent.” which was definitely true, music wasn’t her area of expertise. but she also didn’t want someone else’s job or ability to get a job to be in her hands.

Feet up in the library, Cillian poured over pages of handwritten sheet music, while idly listening to a phone call using headphones. As someone entered the room, he visibly brightened and waved them over. “Do me a favour?” he whispered. He held out the headphones. “My orchestra’s got auditions this morning. I’m ‘sick’, meaning busy, and with no interest in commuting today. Literally phoning it in. Unfortunately, everyone so far has been rubbish, it’s giving me a headache. So listen in, would you? Tell me if anyone’s half decent.”

“you should bring her to my apartment one day when you have to babysit her because i think she likes me,” nevaeh said with a small smile. “you like me, right jordan?” as much as sunny could give her nieces and nephews a hard time sometimes, it was clear that she loved them a lot and was a very good aunt. “i didn’t know you could cut hair.”

nevaeh hung out in the lobby sometimes when she needed a change of scenery from her room. as much as she loved her room and her apartment, sometimes she felt like she was stuck in a rabbit hole of isolation in there and needed to escape. and since going out out wasn’t exactly the girl’s forte, she settled on hanging out in the lobby. “cookies? i would love some,” nevaeh said, with a slight smile before taking one. “mmm, these are really good, you said you made these?”

christian flings himself down on the lobby’s couch, -still hot- chocolate cookies in hands with an uptight expression on his face which is weird for someone who has cookies, a lot, to look this displeased. but he has every right to be nervous, the reason why he’s in the lobby with cookies is that he is there to make friends since he has like only two. he’s never been a talkative person but offering strangers something they can’t refuse,cookies,seemed like the best option.’’yes.hello. want some cookies? i made them.’’ he mutters without looking at the person, hoping that the cookies don’t taste bad since he spent 2 hours on making them.
