Israel is not only starving the people of Gaza but it also wants to ensure the spread of disease through contaminated water and surgical tools, as well as ensuring injured Palestinians suffer through horrendous pain.
It's beyond sickening.

There is a reason that there has been such a concerted effort to remove queer people from their history. Queer history, in its nature, is empowering. It debunks the belief that queerness is unnatural. It reminds queer people that their legacy is that of change, revolution, and beauty. It challenges every defended belief about history being a story of cisgender straight white men doing brave things while the rest of us sat at the sidelines. There is a reason that so many people are so scared of queer people having access to their history.

Helen has been a more than a distinctive face in the Sex Pistols entourage. Born to a wealthy South African family, she first met with Malcolm McLaren at Goldsmiths’ art school and they became close friends, briefly lovers as well as LSD partners. She was an integral part of the Soho nightlife, associated with musicians from the Prety Things and The Pink Fairies, lived in a posh central London appartment which McLaren described as “quite a little drug den” and shared an interest in some of McLaren’s extreme visions, a reason that soon turned her into one of the first troops in his army of misfits.
She has been credited with the invention of the punk graphic “ransom/blackmail note look” of cut-out newspaper letters used to create the first Sex Pistols logo on the floor of her flat, the band’s early typography and posters -which Jamie Reid later refined- as well as some more fashion ideas that she got no credit for, like the use of tartan or chains as elements of punk style and she’s known to have appeared in Derek Jarman’s ‘77 film Jubilee and in The Great Rock ‘n’ Roll Swindle by Julien Temple in 1980.
Having been born with a condition which caused dwarfism, she was drawn to a world of punk weirdos who accepted her without question:
“I always had a negative self conscious image of myself. But being part of an outrageous clique made me feel secure. Nobody had dressed like us before so Plebs couldn’t categorise me, which made it possible for me to be myself. I felt liberated and that’s when I started to live. For a time I was unaware of the negative side of being a freak. 
Because of my size and the way I was brought up, the punk era was the most liberating time of my life… Suddenly I had the courage to wear ridiculous things that made me stand out. For the first time I didn’t try and merge into the background. I wanted people to look at me with my chains, safety-pins, foxtail and black eyes. 
For once being a dwarf didn’t matter.”

Please, please constantly challenge and reject the narrative that any region is naturally more prone to war than any other, like that's a characteristic inherent to its make-up, like that's geographically assigned risk the same way an area can be earthquake-prone or hurricane-prone.
There has never been a utopia on Earth and nowhere is entirely free of conflict, but this disastrous scale of violence inflicted upon the SWANA region is a deliberate and calculated effort of destabilization by Western powers who want to bleed the region dry. It's not an immutable part of the contour of the land that its people must adapt to and live with. It can be stopped and should be stopped. These people were once free and can be freed again.
Every time you see someone hand-waving a crisis at this scale as "conflict in the Middle East" it is an abominable tool to dehumanize Arabs to the point where nobody bats an eye at the death of their children.
Examine what that phrase means. What is a "conflict in the Middle East"? What happens in Yemen isn't what happens in Morocco isn't what happens in Palestine isn't what happens in Iraq, but this catch-all term is meant to translate in your mind into "problems are happening where problems are always happening", because of course they are! Conflict in the Middle East? What else is new, clouds in the sky? Fish in the sea? It lulls you into apathy; Arabs are dying - but that's what they do, don't they?
And so three goals of the perpetrators of this violence are achieved. First, they wash their hands from it; they didn't set the place on fire, it was already like this when they got there! Second, does it even matter whose fault it is? Who cares about a dead brown child anyway? Who's counting the death toll? Third, since this is an unchangeable quality of their region, and has nothing to do with the West, why protest it? Why fight for them? Why demand anything out of Western leaders?
