Oh my god this is gospel.

Im doing this thing called Prioritizing My Happiness while making art and its amazing how all forms of art block/burn out immediately disappear.

The second i start lagging in my drawing i ask myself why im not having fun, and 9 out of 10 times its because i started thinking about how "this composition should be better" or "this movement doesn't flow enough" or "the line art isn't crisp enough."

Like, its great that I know what could be improved in my art, but i AIN'T getting paid for this. Im not trying to work my ass off; im going for having fun and "that looks good enough" lmao.

Also, the worst of my art now is still way better than the best of my art from like, 2 yrs ago, maybe even just last year. And im only gonna get better the more I draw.

But if I kill all the fun in art by trying to make passion projects look professional or "high quality" then i won't make anything at all. So unless I'm getting paid, my little fan comic is just gonna be "good enough" (for me)

what would your Beetlejuice reboot look like?

Imagine a modern-day college AU in which melancholy though kind main character Lydia explores the history and purposes of art and life while also helping solve the lingering issues of departed souls with her best friend Beej (and, of course, learning about themselves along the way)!
