Half-joking here, but the reason I don't agree with people saying shit about AO3 isn't because I don't find some of the stuff on there disgusting, it's because I don't trust a single person on this site to recognize the difference between pedo shit and just something that happens to be badly written or making a point they don't get.

Like, y'all know how badly people can misinterpret things on this site. You've seen how quickly serious accusations are made due to inside jokes that were purposefully twisted for Discourse Points. My stance isn't "it's fiction so it's okay," my stance is "there's not a single person on this site who I can reliably say would be able to judge whether or not a fanfiction is solely meant to be child porn and nothing else with one hundred percent accuracy." And yes, that includes me!

Everyday I see people on this site who don't read the documents they're citing as sources, or who think characters making bad decisions means the story as whole is bad. And you think we should trust Tumblr to do literary analysis??

I want to give this website the benefit of the doubt because this disorder is usually present in younger children, but we've known it also occurs in adolescents and adults for several years now, so it's not really an excuse xjskdnks

Anyone else annoyed when people make image descriptions and then make them unnecessarily small? As in, when they lower the font size a couple degrees like this?

Like, I know the primary reason for image descriptions is so people with screen readers can tell what the image is, but other people with their own issues use these, too. I need IDs sometimes for various reasons, but I don't use a screen reader – I just have trouble reading/understanding the image, and IDs help with that. But when people make their image descriptions small, I have to strain myself to access the accessibility device. It puts me back at square one by making me strain my eyes and pick apart the text bit by bit – which was usually my issue with the image in the first place!

If your accessibility devices can't be accessed by the people who need them, you're not actually helping the people you're trying to help.

Td;lr: stop writing your image descriptions in small text, it makes them unavailable who need them but don't have screen readers.

Sometimes you feel a bit off and can't figure out why because all those self-care checklists aren't working for you. I advise you... To go pick a song you like, type it into the YouTube search bar, and add "daycore" or "slowed" after it. Sometimes you just need a song slowed down! It might not solve the problem completely, but it can help a lot. Especially if you sing or hum along. And once that song is done, go onto another one – another one you know, or just whatever video catches your interest. Music can calm and heal, and I know that sounds cheesy and like an exaggeration, but it's real. Music is recommended to help people calm down, manage their emotions, get them in a certain frame of mind, etc. So really, to leave you all with a joke: go listen to something slowed down and maybe you'll feel better (◍•ᴗ•◍)
