Watching people play the 1st Tomb Raider game for the first time made me realize how much new games hand hold players.

They are so confused by not having a direct tutorial, by having to manually grab things, not having visual clues or maps on how to get places, manually saving otherwise your going back in time, being strategic in movement otherwise you jump off things and so much more.

It makes me wish games would let go of control and let people actually use their brains to figure things out. It’s a far more satisfying experience.

On a side note, I'm usually one for complaining about anything revolving new/modern/reboot Tomb Raider. But to everyone complaining, on Twitter/X, that the art above is ugly is being ridiculous. I think this is a great unified Lara look.

Everyone is too worried about the look of Lara and not focused enough on her personality and attitude for future games. She could look like the reboot Lara but if she has the the attitude (and better voice actor) of classic Lara then she would be Lara. Looks don't make her character , as we saw that in AOD, its her attitude and personality that make the character.

I'm so excited for the Tomb Raider Remasters!

I played Tomb Raider 2 and 3 a lot when I was a kid and I still play them regularly. It has become kind of a tradition for me to play them at the start of the year and draw some fanart too.

I also played the first one few years ago and absolutely loved it!

I can’t with people who complain about the marketing but know nothing about marketing or can’t accept that this remaster is targeting existing fans, not new ones. Let’s be real 99% of people buy this remaster are already classic fans or just tr collectors. New gamers probably won’t touch this.

Can the Tomb Raider fandom stop complaining about everything that is coming out about the remaster? (I'm looking at you Twitter/X people....) They didn't remake the game, they took the original and updated some models & textures but they are still using the original tech. They didn't rebuild anything. We're lucky that the original games have even gotten any attention or a remaster. Ya'll are just as bad as the Sims fandom.
