a smile made its’ way to willows face as she moved the way the male had suggested, head turning to face him, smile still intact “let me know if you need me to move anywhere else.” she spoke.

“If you move maybe a smidge to the right, the light will catch you and then just look at me for a split second.” Jack said, lifting his camera.

“well then maybe not blue?” willow shrugged her shoulders with a soft laugh “well, maybe you’ve got your answer then. i’m sure whatever color you choose will look awesome.” she smiled, keeping her eyes locked on his face as she listened “apparently they’re quite good at all things hair. as long as they’re a good hair stylist.”

“purple? green? blue? your options are kind of endless.” willow spoke as her eyes drifted over to the pink haired male who probably wasn’t really speaking to her in particular though if you want to spare as much damage as possible, go through the complimentary colours first, so like, orange or purple first, it’s less work to turn pink to one of those, right?”

       ❝  i  dunno  —  much  to  think  about.  ❞  salem  mused  aloud  to  the  other  as  he  absentmindedly  ran  a  hand  through  the  dyed  light  pink  strands  of  his  hair.  ❝  pink  is  fun  but  i’m  fickle  and  already  considering  what  color  i  should  dye  my  hair  to  next.  it  probably  won’t  be  for  a  while  to  spare  any  more  damage  to  my  roots.  any  suggestions  ??  ❞  @vestalanding​

“Is there a McDonald’s here? I’m so hungry, and slightly intrigued about what toy do they have in the Happy Meal”

“well then i’m definitely sticking with a willy wonka costume.” she nodded her head in certainty “i mean, marty mcfly handing out candy just doesn’t have the same impact.”

“ Oh? ”  Jason had been passing through when he heard the other talking, and he cannot help but let a soft chuckle emit from his lips at her words.  “ I mean. Hey, to each their own? If you think there should be a live band, why don’t you start it yourself, you have the instrument. ”  He smiles to her and gives a small nod towards the ukulele in her hand.  “ Even if the audience is small, I’m sure they’d appreciate it. ”

willows eyes drifted between the others face and the ukulele in her hands “i’m not sure a lone girl with a ukulele equates to a live band, unfortunately.” willow frowned as she spoke “if i had a guitar, maybe. but i could give it a go.”

“Yeah, I bought one a year or so again, it’s pretty run down so I’ve been fixing it up since then. It still sails and stuff but if I want to take it out for longer trips it’s gonna need some more work.”

“that’s kind of awesome.” willow smiled “i wouldn’t even know where to start on fixing, well. anything.”

“too bad indeed.” she agreed; giving a shrug of her shoulders. “i dunno about fun, though i think my idea of fun differs from everyone else’s.” she told, “yeah, the violin isn’t the easiest to lug around- but it’s about the only instrument that i’m good at. ” jade admitted, “if you don’t mind the company- I think i’d prefer to hang here with you then around all the big crowds.”

“maybe another time.” willow nodded her head as she listened “have you been to one of vestas’ regattas before? because they’re kind of iconic.” she spoke “that’s the best thing about a ukulele. though i’d prefer to play the guitar or piano, it just kind of fits the vibe.” she shrugged “i’d love the company. as long as you don’t mind ukulele music.”

“What about the obstacle course? It looks fun. And the only talent it takes is the ability not to take yourself too seriously.” Lysa gestured to the small crowd of people, kids and adults alike, jumping from obstacle to obstacle not too far away from where the girl was sitting, as she perched on the tiny boat dock next to her. Letting out a heavy sigh, she tilted her head towards the ukulele with a warm smile. “Don’t stop on my account, I’m just trying to take a breather. I feel like I just got here and I’m already exhausted. Must be the sun.” 

a smile formed on willows lips “i guess you’re not wrong.” she shrugged “i think i’ll just stick to playing my ukulele on the dock though.” she added, eyes drifting over to everybody in the water and on the beach “have you got any requests?”

“Yeah, like I said it doesn’t make me freak out, I just find them to be creepy.” He mused. “Honestly if someone managed to successfully build a sandcastle in the lake, I’d have to crown them the winner, because I don’t think that is even remotely possible.” 

“fair enough.” willow nodded “any particular reason you think it’s creepy?” she spoke, her eyes drifting from the male she was speaking to, to all the activity happening on the lake “someone might take that as a challenge.”

“So why not start an impromptu one? I can’t really play any instruments but I’m sure if you started singing, other vocalists and guitarists could start joining in.” He pointed out. “You could start by singing somewhere over the rainbow.”

“you know, you’ve got a pretty good idea there.” willow nodded her head as she spoke “isn’t somewhere over the rainbow just slightly too cliche to start playing on the ukulele though?’

     “I’d raise my hands in defense right now, but kind of busy.” She offered with a slight laugh as she focused on the work she was doing. “Tone seems a little pointed, my bad. But i mean, yeah. Fish is a fish, but koi fishes are just so much prettier. Who’d want a blow fish on their face? I mean I could do it, but why?”

willow let out a huff as she listened to imani speak, eyes not drifting from the other females face “i mean, you never know.” she shrugged her shoulders. good argument willow. “it could be pretty cool. done right, and if anyone was going to do it right..” she drifted off.
