Trey Parker and Matt Stone to Direct a Live Action Film with the Working Title ‘Alma Junction’
via DiscussingFilm.net and ComicBook.com:
Trey Parker and Matt Stone are heading back to the silver screen. New reports (via DiscussingFilm) have surfaced suggesting the duo has paired with Scott Rudin on a new project tentatively titled Alma Junction, seemingly after a Colorado locale near the location where the two attended college. Rudin and his company Scott Rudin Productions had previously worked with the two on South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut, the feature film spin-off the catapulted the South Park franchise into the mainstream. Virtually no details for the movie are available other than the trio having it in active development.
The last film the two directed was Team America: World Police, a satirical film released in 2004. Rudin, on the other hand, has had his hand in producing award-winning films like Lady Bird, Isle of Dogs, Uncut Gems, and Annihilation. Per the report, the movie also has cinematographer Pawl Pogorzelski attached, a frequent collaborator of Ari Asters. Pogorzelski served the same role on both Hereditary and Midsommar.
With the listed cinematographer, could we be seeing a Parker/Stone horror film?

South Park Nears $500 Million Streaming Deal
Via The Hollywood Reporter:
– ‘South Park’ Streaming Rights May Fetch Up to $500M in Bidding War –
Trey Parker and Matt Stone, along with Viacom Inc., are nearing what’s likely to be a rich deal for the streaming rights to South Park.
Numerous companies are bidding for exclusive U.S. streaming rights to the full library, with sources confirming to The Hollywood Reporter the potential price tag of up to $500 million. Bloomberg first reported the bidding.
Currently, the Comedy Central cartoon is available to watch on Hulu, which a source says is among the current bidders. Before that, it was on Netflix.
South Park is in the midst of its 23rd season and recently was scrubbed from the Internet in China and banned after a critical episode about the Chinese government, which also mocked Hollywood for shaping its content to please the Chinese censors. Because of that, Parker and Stone have become folk heroes to the protesters in Hong Kong.

South Park Completely Banned From Chinese Internet After ‘Band in China’ Episode, Trey & Matt Issue “Apology”
via TheHollywoodReporter:
South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone probably saw this coming, and to their credit, simply didn't care.
The most recent episode of South Park, "Band in China," has been generating loads of media attention for its sharp critique of the way Hollywood tends to shape its content to avoid offending Chinese government censors in any way whatsoever.
Now, those very same government censors, in the real world, have lashed back at South Park by deleting virtually every clip, episode and online discussion of the show from Chinese streaming services, social media and even fan pages.
A cursory perusal through China's highly regulated Internet landscape shows the show conspicuously absent everywhere it recently had a presence. A search of the Twitter-like social media service Weibo turns up not a single mention of South Park among the billions of past posts. On streaming service Youku, owned by Internet giant Alibaba, all links to clips, episodes and even full seasons of the show are now dead.
And on Baidu's Tieba, China's largest online discussions platform, the threads and sub-threads related to South Park are nonfunctional. If users manually type in the URL for what was formerly the South Park thread, a message appears saying that, "According to the relevant law and regulation, this section is temporarily not open."
[... ] On Monday afternoon, creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone issued a statement with a faux apology about the ban.
"Like the NBA, we welcome the Chinese censors into our homes and into our hearts," the statement reads. "We too love money more than freedom and democracy. Xi doesn't look like Winnie the Poo at all. Tune into our 300th episode the Wednesday at 10 p.m. Long live the great Communist Party of China. May the autumn's sorghum harvest be bountiful. We good now China?"

Chinese Reddit User Thanks South Park For Making ‘Band in China’
Here is the complete post:
Thank South Park for Bind in China
I am a Chinese and watched Band in China today. They are really telling the truth. It’s lucky for me and my surrounding people that we aren’t in the situations such as the concentration camp that episode shows, but it IS happening. In China you might die in prison with no one knowing, for criticizing China Communism Party. However most of Chinese totally have no idea about that and even think the episode is ridiculous because of the brilliant information blocking skill of Chinese. Maybe you’ve known that Chinese banned almost everything that might have any negative effects to the ruling of CCP, including social media that won’t cooperate on CCP censorship, even steam community. We have to pay at least $2.5 for a vps to use steam guard in China. And almost every online game has an isolated sever for Chinese, run by Tencent or NetEase.
However we have got used to everything in China thanks to the brainwashing educations, and most of Chinese feel happy living in China because the socialism iron fist has not hit them yet.
Thank South Park for letting the world know the terrible situations in China, though it hardly has any impact in China mainland because the whole season 23 was banned in China.
Thank you for reading this and sorry for my unnatural English.

South Park Renewed Through Season 26! Three Additional Seasons!
Press release: https://press.cc.com/press-release/2019/09/12/press-south-park-renewed-through-26th-season
Trey Parker and Matt Stone are extending the Emmy® and Peabody® Award-winning South Park by three seasons and 30 episodes in a new deal with Comedy Central, taking the longest-running primetime scripted series in cable though an unprecedented 26th season and at least 327 episodes. The 23rd season, during which the iconic series will surpass its milestone 300th episode, will premiere on September 25. Ahead of its launch, viewers can take the SPandMe test to find out which South Park characters are inside you.
Interview with Trey and Matt: https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/as-south-park-gets-renewed-2022-matt-stone-trey-parker-have-new-movie-ideas-1238778
Ever since South Park premiered in August 1997, the show has fielded complaints from concerned parents and advocacy groups who've occasionally asked Comedy Central to pull the cartoon from air. For decades, Trey Parker and Matt Stone have laughed and shrugged it off. ("People have been talking about cancelling us for 22 fucking years," Parker quips).
Now, the naysayers will have some more time to complain as South Park has just been renewed by Comedy Central through 2022. "In this day and age, it is more of an achievement than it was before, the fact that we are still going," Parker notes. Yet, even after all they have had to hear through the years, the duo agrees "cancel culture" is different and something which deeply irks them.
After their first meeting Tuesday for the upcoming 23rd season (premiering Sept. 25), The Hollywood Reporter caught up with Parker and Stone at their Marina del Rey studio (named Casa Bonita) to discuss how long they want to keep doing South Park, some plans to make a (non-South Park) movie for the first time in 15 years and the rise of cancel culture.
