Back on my yap because I’ve wanted to mention this for a while

From the way I see it, Mundus must’ve been obsessed with the Sparda twins, especially Vergil.

Firstly we know that Mundus is kind of a mad-scientist type because of him constantly making demons (all of dmc1 demons were made by him). Most importantly, Nightmare, he literally took a bunch of demons, slapped them into one and realised he created a monstrosity that could even kill him. So that proves the whole Mad Scientist thing.

Then, because Vergil wasn’t concealing his identity, unlike Dante, Mundus literally stalked this young boy, collected data on him and how he fights and created a clone of him (Gilver) who he then sent to attack Dante. Knowing that Mundus stalked Vergil for who knows how long, he definitely caught onto Vergil wanting to reach Sparda’s level of power. He’s definitely seen what Vergils true intentions are (to never feel the pain and weakness he did the night Mundus killed his mother), and realised how weak mentally Vergil was in that state. Maybe he knew that Vergil was going to make his way to the Underworld one way or another.

This brings on my next point. The Proto-Angelo’s show that Mundus had probably wanted Vergil under his control but needed the perfect armour to do that. I think that maybe he ordered Machiavelli to do that, since we know he created the armours. Going along with the Mad Scientist and Mundus’ obsession with God-likeness, he was probably a perfectionist and needed the armour to be exactly perfect to keep Vergil trapped within.

Quick mention: I know that the 2005 DMC1 comics aren’t canon. But it really intrigued me how in those comics, Mundus “adopts” Nelo-Angelo. Going as far as to call him son. Ofc Mundus is a villain, very manipulative and deceptive. But it took me by surprise for him to not only brainwash Vergil, but to also use his admiration towards his father against him and make him think Mundus is his father. Once again, the comics aren’t canon but maybe this part could be.

Long story short: Mundus is an obsessive creep but super interesting as a villain (like what do you mean the world was covered in snow when he was born????) and I wish we got to see more of him

Hi! I know it's maybe late for some of you, but still... HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY ❤️

Here is my fanfic submission for Vxlentine's Day in @verladyweek account.

The promps was "Bridging the Distance".

Summary:

A week after his return from the underworld, Vergil finds himself pondering his life among the desolate remnants of his old home in Redgrave, when an intrusive figure interrupts him. For her part, Lady reluctantly embarks on a strange mission that Dante – as usual – doesn't give her much information about, precisely in the infamous town of Redgrave. "Why lie and send Lady on a false mission to meet Vergil?" The last thing Dante wants is to hint at his reasons, but seeing that Trish wouldn't leave him alone... "I thought maybe they could get over their differences," he shrugs.

PS: It's my first time publishing in AO3 and also the first time I publish a DMC fanfic 👀.

PS2: I've heard about AO3's course, but luckily my default bad luck will repel it. 🤣

I love that the last poem V quoted was "Infant Joy", because these lines served as a blessing to Vergil who was about to be reborn. The common interpretation for the poem is that a mother names her infant who was two days old, "Joy" and blessing the child by saying "Sweet joy befall thee." The image with V kissing little Vergil on the top of his head is lovely. It's like looking at a parent and a child❤️ The Angel that presided 'oer my birth Said, "Little creature, form'd of Joy and Mirth, "Go love without the help of any Thing on Earth." Along with the lines from "Infant Joy", I consider that these lines that were said by V in the game, they go together nicely with the blessing that V gives unto Vergil. Vergil was going to be reborn and V wished him to "love" (or "live" based on the original line of the poem). "Without the help of any Thing on Earth". In the original, instead of Thing it's King. To me, he was wishing that Vergil who was going to be reborn, no longer a prisoner of nightmares, of kings (Mundus), to live a happy life.

I drew a little todomomo sketch yesterday. I want to go a bit into detail about the thought behind the piece. A few years ago, I discovered the artist @raikiriart here on tumblr. I loved absolutely every piece they did for bnha, but especially the one where they drew a Peter Pan AU for Bakugo and Ochako. I find everything about that piece delectable (Cant find better word rn sry, brain is tired). Ochako as a fairy, Katsuki in the fantasy outfit, the enchanted forest they're in. The mushroom Ochako sists on. The lantern next to her. The tall grass around them. The quiet tranquil serenity of that piece. It feels like they're in a world of their own entirely. I don't know what it did, but it changed something about the chemical makeup of my brain. It's to this day one of my favorite pieces of fanart ever. From the moment that I had first seen it, I wanted to draw something similar, which would capture the essence I saw in the piece by them. I came up with a similar setting for Todomomo. Where they are also fairy and human, and it includes mushrooms etc. and I was very motivated to draw it, but the truth is, I was just so bad at art at the time that I never managed to go past a very bad sketching phase, which caused me to completely lose motivation for the piece unfortunately.

I came upon the old sketch by chance two days ago and I decided to try it again, cause why not? It's not like I had anything to lose. And I am just so pleased with what I have so far drawn. That I have gotten better at art and am confident enough to know that I will continue working on it. It's far from being finished, as it still needs to be rendered and all, but I'm just so happy that I don't feel like giving up on it like I did the first time.

Since I had the idea for this, I have kind of moved on from the todomomo ship, but I'm still having a lot of fun drawing them now. I can't wait to continue this soon.
