Houma, Lafitte, Vacherie, and Port Fourchon are underwater as well due to Hurricane Ida. I’ve read some rescue tweets of people stating there’s a number of residents (one being a pregnant woman) who are trapped in their attics after trying to escape the rising water. There’s power outages in New Orleans and other Parishes. as well as some parts of Mississippi. 

All of this in the middle of a pandemic… 

I have friends in New Orleans that I haven’t heard from since yesterday. I’m hoping they received that alert that the electricity isn’t estimated to be returned until a month from now for New Orleans and other Parishes. Yes, a whole fucking month. However, the transmission tower is nonexistent at this point.

Was the 30-day estimate for everyone to receive power before or after they seen this demolished structure? I can’t even wrap my head around this. Complete devastation from what they’re experiencing and the lack of media coverage.

Wait people complain about bull terrier heads..? I've never heard of it causing issues for the dog, do people just not like it because they look funny??? I'm not a fan of bull terriers (their ginormous heads with tiny little beady eyes kind of creep me out) but if it's not causing harm I just... Why would people be upset

Because this is what actual Bull Terrier skulls look like. But I have more than once been accused of lying when I point out that the skulls do not look like the PDE image, and that that would be significant warping of the jaw and face itself, and the dogs would not look as they currently do if that was actually how their faces worked.

But, of course, PDE relied a lot of shock value, and hiding lies within truth and extreme language, and these skulls don’t look so shocking, so they weren’t used. But you’ll still see that image pop up whenever discussions on how breeds were just better 100 years ago happen, and it always bothers me.

Especially, as said, when seeing some of my other stopless terrier clients and realizing how adding that bony ridge along the top of the face is really all that’s necessary to recreate the classic egghead look. I even see this head shape in working line dobes.

Fur farms can be run ethically and fur is better for the environment than faux, we take the fur from cows and I don't see anyone kicking up a stink about that. We take the down from goose and ducks and I don't see anyone kicking up a stink about that.

Dumb as hell. Fur farming isn’t inherently bad and foxes are not a conservation concern at all. Donate to actual conservation organisations.

When you ask to pet a working dog, don't be upset if you get a short answer. You're not the first person we've had ask that day, hell you're probably not even the second person in an hour that has asked to touch or has touched without permission.

Don't get upset because we get short with you, get upset because so many people have already done what you have tried to do that you have put us on the defensive before you even get close to us.

Before you even say a word, I know. I try to get in the way.

Before you even get close to us, I know. I try to get the dog into a position where you can't touch him.

I don't want to hear about how you lost your dog, I've already heard another story today. I don't want to hear about how your friend raises guide dog puppies, it's got nothing to do with me.

I don't want to tell you what conditions I have, it's got nothing to do with you. I don't want to let your kids pet my dog, he's not there for your entertainment.

You can huff, puff, make comments, you're not the first one to do it and you definitely will not be the last. You can get upset, lose your temper, call us names and become a two year old. We've seen it all before.

So when you see a working dog all decked out in its gear, and you see its handler walking next to it, leave the damn dog alone so we can go about our day.
