What do you think they're talking about?

I think of this one as 'the lost one' because somehow I managed to do this lineart back in July, then mis-filed it and lost it completely until this week. I honestly was considering whether I'd just thought about the piece and planned it, but hadn't actually done the lineart at all... and with the amount of times I have to question my memory... that was also a possibility! Anyway.

It became a new casualty of my testing of graphite pencils lol.

The Return of Inexplicable Sith!Obi-Wan.

Six and a half years ago I made a series of sith edits... with a mouse.

So here's a much belated follow up now that I have a stylus, and remembered how to create GIFs lol!

Only wish I could get better quality uploaded - I may need to look at video clips, as the original edit was 1) longer, and 2) 1080P. But this is MUCH better than what I was working with in 2016 😂

because I’ve seen a couple posts like this recently:

Do not be discouraged if you see someone with the same idea for a fic as you! Because that’s what we want–the same exact stories, over and over, through the unique lens of each writer! That’s the beauty of fanfiction: you can read the same story, slightly to the left, as many times as possible!

So please, post that fic that has the same premise as someone else. Write your version of it, and rest assured knowing that at the very least, one person will be delighted to find the same kind of story as one they just finished!

#i slept in an unseated garage in NZ for a year #the minus 15 to 20 Celsius only lasted a few weeks max but #I had a heated mattress pad with a really good duvet #and add something that keeps the heat in like mentioned here and it’s pretty good #now getting out of bed it a whole other convo 🙃 #unheated not unseated lol

“It’s a curse. The Kaminoans… synthesized it, spliced it into the CCs after a few successful trials. We fall.” Cody pauses, one shoulder bell lifting like in a shrug. “And then we rise again.”

Obi-Wan is quiet for a long moment. “You can’t die,” he asks softly. A cursed existence from birth. His chest clenches, so do his hands at his sides.

“Takes a bit more effort but we can. We’re supposed to be the last ones standing at your side.”

Their eyes catch on each other, meeting in grim understanding.

“The curse. It feels…”

“Dark?”

“Betrayed.” Now that he knows what to look for.

Cody winces. But a staticky skull, like a holo, rushes forward, out of him. Immediate and sudden, grinning jaws snapping at Obi-Wan’s face.

The moment is over before he can react, pulse beginning to race after the fact.

“It likes you,” Cody whispers, untroubled, hint of a smile tugging at his mouth. “It sees something in you.”

Flattering, if somewhat unnerving. “Must be the infinite sadness.”

Cody ducks his head but Obi-Wan can still see his smile taking strength on his face. “Must be,” he murmurs before looking up again, pinning Obi-Wan with his serious, amber eyes, one pupil glowing blue-teal-nether when the light breaks on surface. “Please don’t be afraid of us.”

Me, Obi-Wan hears in the undercurrent. “Never,” he replies, honesty anchoring itself on a vow he hadn’t - couldn’t have - foreseen before the last engagement. When he fought and fought and helplessly watched Cody get perforated by plasma shots. Watched as he, impossibly, stood up again, bleeding and raging through the droids surrounding him. “Never,” he says again, quieter.

Cody cocks his head to the side, shadow of a smirk growing as footsteps get louder beyond the door. The holo-projection-astral plane skull flares again, shaking and snapping, before it settles back into Cody. “Rex. Probably checking you’re not reading me the riot act—“ He starts, visibly remembering who he’s talking to. “Sir.”

Obi-Wan hides a smile.
