I grew up in a house with a bruja. But I knew nothing of Taino. One day my aunt explained our history to me and it was such a meaningful experience. I learned as much as I could over the next 30 years.
The most important discovery was that our people are not extinct. No matter how much the American books say opposite. Knowing they fled to the mountains and neighboring islands, just makes my lineage broader. Knowing I have cousins in Venezuela, Dominican Republic, Cuba, Jamaica, Haiti, Peru, and so on up the coast of South and Central America.
Embracing your roots and accepting your history/ people /culture will widen your practice. Curanderismo is a healer that uses nature to remedy the issue. It is usually said to be a Mexican tradition but no, it’s something we all practice. To be a Curandera was to be a Bruja. Brujeria was thought to be the dark side of it, as putting curses or making things happen to others or changing the natural events of things. Witchcraft basically. But the origins of all of this was just living in nature and using nature to survive both physically and spiritually.
I am Taino. I’m forced to call myself Puerto Rican. But I am not a Rich Port. I am a Poor American whose people were massacred for the riches of the land. Whose aunts and a uncles were burned alive and beautiful baby cousins fed to dogs. Forced a new language. Forced a new culture. Forced a new view. Forced to forget my culture, my language, my family. Forced to believe that we have been wiped off the face of the earth. But look around you, though you can not pinpoint your actual family link, they are out there and they still are Arawakan.
I learned Christianity, through a Brujas eye. I walk my Priestess path today through a brujas eye. Connecting my self to my ancestors, my blood, my lineage, my culture, our origins. Boriken, Or neighboring islands, we were all one big family.
Praying to the Mother Goddess
Bibi Atabey - Mother Atabey
Atte itabo era - Mother of Waters
Coaiba Mamona - Heavenly Mother of the Moon
Aturo aya wakia Itiba Cahubaba - Sister of our Ancient Bleeding Mother
We’re all on our own paths. Sometimes that path goes way out and around and leads you back to where you were when you began. What that means ya that in some cases, through read each and trend, some decide religion is no longer a fit for them. So they begin to learn so much about spirituality, astrology, mysticism and much more. But for some, the more you learn the more you find a connection to the divine being.
So what happened was that they left the traditional sense of religion and it’s fear base, and found a connection within themselves on a higher level.
Others find the things that were told to them are so true and they hold that fear so tight that they return to their originating religion. So afraid from what they’ve discovered that they have to stay under the protection of it.
Many see the mask of religion. The man made mockery of religion. The limitations and inaccuracies of religion. They drop that phony shit and go in naked.
But in the BOOKS (all religious books) there is a truth that’s undeniable. There are accounts that are there for warning and others there to teach. I’m not saying go read your Bible, (even tho it’s not a bad idea) I’m saying- we have all seen a talking serpent in our days!
If you are lost, you can dive right into spirituality and find yourself, and your connection to all that surrounds you. You will discover your body mind spirit and soul are unison- not individuals. You can lock them together and vibrate at a higher frequency than those around you. You will be so honed in on your intuition, your senses and perceptions, that you’ll be an Oracle.
This doesn’t always come lightly. You’ll discover negative energies/entities along your path. There are some scary things out there. This will determine your next move on your path.
My point is that no one should be condemned for what they follow/ believe. If they never open their minds to seek truth for themselves, that’s their prerogative. If someone strays from Christianity and embarks on their own self discovery journey and wind up back in Christianity, that’s their right. If someone enlightened themselves (not just trend based) and that path does not include religion, so be it.
Being raped and raped and raped. Only feeling the sting and a vibrational gong still lingering from your face
Everything else is faint and reality hasn’t reached.
The feeling is coming back into your hands and up your arms
A loud ring in your head and pain down your chest.
With the next blink there’s clarity
And the next blink there’s realization
And the next blink adrenaline. You try to slither out of the claws but pound after pound.
Anger fills you. Fight fight fight
But here you are a result of fight.
Laying in your own broken bones
Blood dripping from face to the floor.
Jus let him..
Hell no, The more you move the better for him
Or the more you fight the more you get hit.
But in that instant you’re able to snatch yourself loose and kick him back
You sit up quickly and try to stand but can’t
And bam knocked back down again via fist to the same right cheek bone that has been split open already.
Legs being pulled closer to his slimy body
Try to crawl and stagger away and kick yourself free but a sharp piercing pain through your calf flesh being torn into by his canines causes a loud cry. Insinuating please stop I can’t take any more.
So many react instantly through anger. So many react ferociously. So many react instinctively. But not many think before they act. Those that do are regarded as weak or a punk, but reality is they are the smarter being.
So is it Ego that pushes many to be loud and vicious in a small altercation, that didn’t need escalation? Is it Recognition? Is it the need to show your Dominance? Is it a Warped Perception of what is really going on? Is it the Bullied syndrome? Is it Mental Illness? Is it just Ignorance?
Personally, I feel it can be all of the above.
Do you know how hard it is to stay calm when someone is verbally attacking and antagonizing you? Yes, I’m sure you do! We all want to rip the other persons head off.. but where would that get us... JAIL. 🤦🏻♀️
Sometimes it’s impossible to de-escalate a situation. And sometimes you wish you didn’t say what you said because now you’re going to get an ass whoopin. 🤷🏻♀️
Looking weak in front of a crowd can be debilitating as a child or an adult. But if you do not care how others feel about you, then you can walk away with confidence. The Ego will put you in situations that are extremely hard to get of. There are plent in prison due to their Ego. There are plenty in the cemetery due to their Ego.
Walking the path of the awakened soul, you should learn to control your thinking and reactions. Your actions are representation of who you are. If you’re partner or sibling is always in high volume and angrier is their first reaction, they are low vibrating beings. It takes effort and energy to realize who you are and work on ones self. It takes Zero effort to react erratically.
Moral of the story: The elevated, intelligent, awakened being, can be unbothered in unnecessary escalated situations. It takes work but you can do it. If you always have to put on a show, by all means- continue... there are plenty tuned in. But if you are looking for true soul awakening, get a handle of yourself. Self control and knowledge of self will have you looking at the other as an annoying bee. Let them do what they do, let them be who they are. You don’t have to swat unless you’re stung!
Life is everything. Good and Bad. You will experience dualities on this roller coaster. You have to maintain balance, you shouldn’t dwell on the pain (easier said than done), and you shouldn’t boast your achievements. Your actions and reactions pave the path for you. Be mindful of your choices and be mindful of its intent. Some bad times are inevitable and others are of your making, both you’ll have to let pass. Great things will shine soon. Obstacles can be put in your way or you make them yourself, either way- it’s up to you how you get passed it. It’s your timeline. So much is out of your control and you must learn to deal with things as they come. You can’t break down Everytime something goes wrong. If you do fall apart, pick yourself up as quickly as possible. This takes practice from childhood. Nothing wrong with taking time to mourn or get through things, just don’t get stuck there. Life is ever changing and continuous; with or without you, Life Goes On. Lessons learned or repeated... No one here is owed anything. You owe it to yourself to elevate yourself, enlighten yourself, Be the best you that you can. That does mean getting a handle on your emotions, your short comings, & your prejudices. Work on yourselves, take accountability and be responsible ADULTS.
