“Delirium”
I accidentally threw a Northern European still life into the air and it turned all these extreme colors as it fell apart… weird
The leaves remind my of caterpillar inchworm colors… all these tomato hornworms in my garden yet no cigars?
Eight layers with transparencies for in between color rights

Come take a gander at my goose (haha)
I was watching a video of Turkish women holding the geese they've bred their whole lives as a source of income and kinda got lost in the imagery of a goose on a bright red Persian rug
The rugs my own creation but I was looking at the shapes and borders and colors of actual ones
the black is a deep blue but the red makes cameras angry so it's hard to see

“Lovers/Wilt”
Ah, how sad, the creeping rot of a soul, who has lost her sense of reality, to a lover (wilted beau) who isn’t who she seeketh so (Psyche doth thou cradle this looming floral bloom, as if your lover Eros, who fate has woven from the loom)
Big linoleum diptychs - about 30” by 40” inches - mmmm scratchy eraser lines

“The Silent Game - Angel vii”
A painting full of studies of still lives of game birds (though those birds are usually Not white doves) and a sacrilege
Preferably viewed as descending but technically reversible (although really the shadows are created to be descending so)
Once again on my rock of: nothing white should be shaded blue (personal preference) VIVA LA VERDE SHADOWS! (I feel like verde may not be a feminine word but shhhh it’s for the revolution)

“Red crested - he swallowed the sky, (please, may you leave sun for the day to come little bird)”
This may be the easiest silk to paint on I’ve come across yet real thick weave and far less latent absorbency
A barn swallow (sun eater, sky of twilight)

“Star eaten, Star eater”
(You carry the night sky into
the depths of the sea)
Whale fall whale fall! Did this intaglio print a month back but just got around to painting the background of a proof a solid deep black like I envisioned it originally - imposing the scene onto an almost unreality of emptiness
Beached whale sea urchin infested whale bone whale (they can all three tell you the secrets whispered by the stars)
An ode to a beautiful system of decay and it’s inevitable biodiversity - an ode to things vast an unseen

Rot
Is the obsession with birds transforming? Perhaps. Blame pterosaur fossils and the Museum of Natural History (no really, it’s all their fault)
Want to make an Icarus along these lines - golden yellow golden yellow dripping vibrant blood
Sometimes it really is all about the steely grey metallic shimmer of the sea, the sky, and feathers

New triptych of intaglio prints - pterosaur adjacent skeleton and the usual states of aviary decay (text is blue bc I can’t see what I’m typing in white?? Whyyy)
The beetles crawling beneath the soil of my skin writhe with all the joy of a bag of gummy worms (I don’t actually liek candy, worms though, are amazing)

“Untitled (Angel)”
Iterations of wings… fold me a thousand oriziru that will rustle their paper feathers and carry me off into the night and leave me in the depths of the sea
More geese! Goose. Goosen. A goose to combat art block and the incessant feeling that one has forgotten how to paint after not doing so for a few weeks…
Someone bully me into using more colors I used five colors total for this and I have so much paint I could be using it’s Ridiculous

“Snowmelt (A Quarrel of Sparrows)”
continuation of the birds (oh the birds, there can be endless birds) and particularly the dead birds hmmm (things I would find on my doorstep, what fallow ground is concrete…)?
Blah blah generally I am not a scientist and molecular biology is confusing so take everything with sea water
Old-world sparrows (true sparrows - although sometimes that is used to refer to the genus Passer and not the family Passeridae) are small passerine (refers to their toes actually! Passerines perch and so have three forward facing and one backwards facing toes) songbirds have an unusually high amount of pseudogenes (a section of a chromosome that is an imperfect copy of a functional gene, so they do not actually perform any actions, they’ve decayed over the process of evolution to become useless (performatively), it is speculated that pseudogenes could’ve been created as a decoy form of microRNA because when species of RNA are competing to bind to microRNAs (which are fragments of RNA that prevent protein synthesis by binding to the messenger RNA (mRNA) that would’ve usually reacted to create a protein (generally in a certain section of mRNA) - they suppress gene expression by doing this, since the proteins are encoded in genes/determine cell function) anyways so it’s suspected that pseudogenes are meant to act as decoy miRNAs to attract mRNA to them instead of actual miRNAs - in the case where psuedogene transcripts are turned into small-interfering RNAs (siRNAs) with a similar function of suppressing gene expression - everything wants to fuck with gene expression huh…) anyways so the Passer genus has a notable amount of psuedogenes when compared to other songbirds, specifically psuedogenes that came from mitochondrial cytochrome b genes (mt cyt b - cytochrome b is a protein in the mitochondria of eukaryotic cells which is part of the electron transport chain)
Anyways since I refuse to pay 35 dollars to read more about Sparrow pseudogenes…. There are unprocessed pseudogenes (contain introns which are DNA/RNA segments incapable of coding for protein as well as regulatory sequences//part of a nucleic acid molecule capable of increasing or decreasing certain gene’s expression) and processed pseudogenes (copies of messenger RNA reverse transcribed into DNA (so put in backwards?) and added into the genome//genetic material)… pseudogenes are the result of genes decaying over evolutionary time from things like point mutations (mutations that affect only a few nucleotides in a sequence), insertions or deletions of nucleotides, misplaced stop codons (stop codons are also present in unprocessed pseudogenes, they’re codons which signal the point at which the translation for a protein should end), or gene frameshifts (caused by indels (insertion/deletion of bases in a genome) by a number not divisible by three… so like if two nucleotides where deleted… okay…. Why so specific……… why am I doing molecular bio stuff rn Why)
Internet did not want to give me information about this in a straightforward manner (or at all) my brain hurts, curse you molecular biology you are confusing and full of obscure and uber specific phraseology one has to endlessly look up to understand a single sentence…. Have sparrows they are full of mysteries I suppose

“Celestia”
Decided to return the birds to Celestia (made the birds and then was sitting on how to format them for awhile)… there should be a name for a group of constellations (in the line of a parliament of ravens etc etc)… the names are written but in order of increasing wingspan there are the Draco, Ursa Major, Monoceros, Canis Major, Perseus, Auriga, Camelopardalis, Lynx, Hydra, and Corvus constellations… whew (pentagons are So weird though…. They are like squares with rhombic proclivities….. why…. *slaps roof of car* I can defeat pentagons with the power of cattails and hot glue guns on me side!) also the constellations Sparkle (and have beads for main stars) and that’s all I require from the universe yanno ✨✨glitter✨✨

Spinning spinning! How exciting, spinning mechanism was the hardest bit to make (it’s made out of cattail reeds and paper) a spinning cardboard double yolked egg of the ocean and the sky

“The Day the Ocean Swallowed the Sun”
This has been knocking around my head since I first thought of that sentence/title… always wanna eat the sun-moon-stars, gender stuff yanno, made the frame back in Fucking January or somth but! Here she is, alive and sun-eaten moon-risen wave-crested and bright
(Theoretically it will sparkly like mad, I just added the sparkly base tonight, so we’ll see tomorrow, fixed the swiggly panel too… it doesn’t wobble in anymore)

A dragon made up of a wisteria vine! Because none of my dragons are made of dragons (can you see their maw and claws?) Blue moon wisteria because it is an ideal fade to ultramarine… silver silk painting… kakemono? Hmmmm, I think there was real metal in the fabric? Interesting to paint on easier then 100% silk actually, can’t really use water though
