Summary: After one fateful night, you find yourself transmigrated into your favorite novel as the Empress that shares the same name as you. As a bookworm, most would think you’d be happy, but how could you be happy when the Empress you’ve become is expected to be killed in three months. The only thing on your mind now is to learn how to survive.

A/N: Hello! So this is my first time writing a story and posting it one here, and I’m a little nervous haha. There won’t be a lot going on for the first chapter so bear with me. Since I’m still kinda new to Tumblr please be understanding and patient with me as I don’t really know what I’m doing haha!

Chapter 25 of Empire’s Star
“Empress”
Empress Y/n scoffs and turns her head to the entrance of her throne room, only for a smirk to slowly form at the sight before her. A few meters in front of her stood the 7 people she had trusted the most, with determined expressions on their faces.
The empress smirks, “my, my, to what do I owe the pleasure of being visited at this hour?”
Being met with silence, the empress raises a brow, “well? Do you have any plans to tell me or are you just going to stand there?”
After a few seconds of silence, the once-loyal advisor, Namjoon, takes a tentative step forward, “your majesty, we have stood back and supported you for years, hoping you would change. But you’ve changed for the worse and we will not stand by and let you bring this empire down with you.”
Y/n smirks and slowly stands, “and what do you plan on doing Namjoon?”
He scowls and brings his sword out, with the 6 men following his actions behind him. Understanding the message long ago, the empress nonchalantly grabs her short sword as well and smirks, “And here I thought we were going to have a pleasant talk. I suppose it was wishful thinking on my part huh?”
Y/n continues making her way down the steps, “So I’ll be assuming you want me dead? I won’t stop you, you know,” Y/n continues to take confident strides towards the 7 men and smirks as she is now only a few feet away, “just know, I’m not going down without a fight.” In an instant, she swings her sword with precision, which gets blocked by Taehyung, the knight that had pledged his loyalty to her years ago when he was only a knight in training.

A/N: Hi all!!! I decided to split this into two parts because it was taking me so long and I needed a break but didn’t want to keep you waiting any longer.
The anticipation for what awaits you is agonizing. There is a heaviness in your heart. It is a painful pounding that beats furiously against your breast. It reminds you of everything you have to lose tonight. It reminds you that too much has been left unsaid between you for far too long.
But there is no guarantee that any of it would matter anyway. He is to become a king, after all. What would a king want with a heart as delicate as your own? What use does a king have for a woman like you? A human woman at that. One whose presence could very well mar the crown he will soon wear and everything it stands for.
It does not matter to many that you are no ordinary woman. Your blood is as blue as the ocean is deep but you are a human all the same. How could a werewolf as powerful and revered as Jungkook ever hold his head high with an interloper for a bride? Surely there would be outrage amongst the members of the pack. Surely you would be the cause of far more stress than your tender heart is worth. No, a king needs domain over his kingdom, not the love of a human.
But loving him is not something you can so easily abandon. It expands well beyond what you can fit in that silly heart of yours. It has been growing steadily inside of you since the innocence of your youth. It started way back when Jungkook was still a ruddy cheeked runt who used to chase you through his family’s orchard. It has matured since then, just as you have after all these years. It is deeper now, desperate even. It begs to be unleashed and reciprocated with an equal vigour.

“Hey Y/N, it’s your turn.” You snap out of your daze for a moment to glance back at the group of girls you were stood with. Clearly caught red handed staring at Taehyung for the tenth time tonight. While you’ve never explicitly admitted your crush on your best friend, it was painfully obvious to the those around you. Each of them desperately trying to see how far they could push you.
“I’m not going to make a move on my best friend, don’t be ridiculous. What else have you got?” You scoff trying to move on from the uncomfortable suggestion. The last thing you wanted to do was ruin two years’ worth of friendship over a stupid dare and a little crush.

Golden film filters through waxed lenses, the call of the silver screen itching at the canister draped to your side. Fingers slip along freshly printed scripts, your eyes following the drop of dialogue as it floats through hallowed canals. The acceleration in tempo nudges at your brain, eyes pulling inward at the uneven flow. Your hand falls to scrunched shoulders, Jeongguk glancing up at you for confirmation.
“Cut!” Audible groans follow his edged tone, extras scurrying to first position while you step toward the center, lips pursed.
“What is it?” You’re addressed, tone clipped, by lead actress Kyung-Soon. Her lengthy hair tosses over sharp shoulders with an icy glare. You wince at the challenge, hours spent couped tensing the assemblage.
“Your volume was a little uneven and your pace was getting choppy near the middle of your dialogue.” You speak as Jeongguk saunters over, fingers coming to pinch the bridge of his nose, the audible scoff from the center of the floor an unwelcome precursor to unscripted dramatics. “I’m sure you’ll get it if we just take five and run it again.”
“You’ve been saying that for the past hour, I don’t know what you want from me!”

Prolouge: The Beta
Someone always has to leave first.
Whether it’s through divorce or death, through separations happy and healthy even if they hurt at first. Sometimes it happens naturally, when a lover slides from living into the afterlife and there is nothing to do but beg; Please treat them gently, please hold them tenderly like I did.
But Nothing is safe and nothing is holy when it comes to death. Death takes and takes leaving behind nothing but memories. But death keeps the ones you love forever, even when you can’t.
Min Yoongi often felt like he walked hand in hand with death, which was honestly a little annoying. He’d much rather ignore how death seemed to follow him like a curse, in favor of holding onto the people he loved for as long as possible. Even if he knew that one day something would come to separate them. Love is that way; intoxicating, even though you know it’s going to end.
Min Yoongi loves his whole pack so much that he’d snatch them from the hands of death. He’d burn buildings and salt cities, bring the sky down upon anyone who dared to take them from him even a moment sooner than was fated. A man in love is a dangerous thing, and Min Yoongi was already dangerous before he met his pack.
He loved them all desperately, even though each one of them had a secret.

If there’s one thing Namjoon is good at, it’s getting on your nerves.
“That’s not how you play the game,” he snorts, watching from his position on Taehyung’s old recliner as you slap down two red cards on top of each other. “We’re not playing stacks.”
You roll your eyes, leaning back into your kneeled position anyway. “You weren’t even here when we made the rules,” you shoot back, shuffling your cards together before Jungkook can try to get another peek at them from the couch behind you. “Shouldn’t you worry about your twelve cards instead?”
Taehyung laughs somewhere to your right, but Namjoon doesn’t seem the slightest bit amused. “I didn’t know we were stacking—which is stupid—but if I did,” his turn comes around and he easily lays down six of his green cards, “shouldn’t you be worrying about how I’m about to win again?” The rest of the circle laughs at your typical banter, but all you want to do is kick Kim Namjoon’s ass, his stupidly plump ass, right above those stupidly thick thighs, thighs that would certainly feel good on your—
“Your turn,” Jungkook nudges, knee against your shoulder. Then he leans close, smells a little like that sparkling water he likes. “If you have a draw four, put it down. Me and Yoon both have one and we can knock Namjoon up to eighteen cards!” he whispers gleefully. You grin, nonchalantly setting down your card. Taehyung, who isn’t in on your little plan, laughs at Jungkook instead.
Suffice to say, Namjoon ends up with eighteen cards, down to sixteen when you set down your last card and win the game. “Boo hoo,” you feign, barely keeping the laughter out of your voice as you get up. “Looks like Joonie loses again.”
He rolls his eyes, following you and Taehyung into the kitchen for more drinks. “Fuck you,” he spits.
“You wish,” you purr, brushing brush past him on your way to the cabinet, on your toes to reach for the glasses.
Instinctively, his hand comes to your hip to hold you steady. Somewhere behind you, Taehyung’s got his head stuck inside the fridge, rummaging around the very back for more drinks. Namjoon gives you a squeeze. “And if I do?” he murmurs, the deep timbre of his voice sending shivers down your spine. Your hand slips, ends up clutching at the cabinet shelf.
He presses closer, breath tickling the nape of your neck, hips against yours. There’s a faint stirring beneath his pants, a movement that makes you gasp. Namjoon leans close, lips against the shell of your ear. “Will you let me?”
