AU where Dazai has been in the established ADA and Oda is a member of the Port Mafia when they meet for the first time. Dazai's still got his pains and no one understands him and life is awful and a heartache and he's getting through it by making small observations each day.

Then he stumbles upon a guy disarming bombs. Dazai's thinks, at least. It's weird because the dude looks like he's supposed to be drinking coffee or managing a bookshop, a mild mannered face and a skilled touch. He doesn't seem to know the explosive radius or the delay in discharge, but tinkers on slowly. Very slowly. Dazai's actually managed to get bored.

A series of other small meetings. Dazai watched him do dangerous or menial tasks with no in-between. It's not too long before he figures out who the other works for. But what Dazai can't figure out is why. This guy's got no killing intent, like members of the Mafia do. In fact, this guy's got no intent at all, other than, doing his job.

It's bizarre. It feels like they're the same. It feels like they're too different. Dazai doesn't know what he's supposed to be doing in this universe.

All this weirdo does is do his job.

He nearly jumps out of his skin, the first time in years, to be startled, to be approached before he's calculated every single step of their possible interactions.

"Hello," The redhead let's him turn around. "Please stop watching me. It's freaking me out a bit."

Dazai wrinkles his nose. It's hard not to feel offended when a weirdo says you're being a weirdo. "I'm with police," he says smoothly. Fails to get a desirable reaction. Continues, "Just doing my reports on Port Mafia activities. Colonel Dazai Osamu."

"Oda." A half nod, half bow. "Please excuse me, Dazai-san. Time to carry on with my Mafia activities."

Dazai should stop him. Doesn't. Shouldn't laugh, but aah, he nearly does. This is delightful.

My canon is that Dazai was being cradled by oda. Oda just touches his face because he wants to.

I hope the person who made the post “Oda was holding Dazai's face in his last moments so that his ability could nullify his own and wouldn't have had to go through his death twice” knows the thought haunts me every day

Matsukawa gets a dating app ad for the fourth time that day. When he raises it as an observation more so than a complaint to Oikawa, he gets a funny look.

But it's not his fault. It's not like he looks up dating shit, it's just that he has to look up why Joey and Rachel cuddled so frequently in Friends, and to figure out if dinner at fancy expensive Italian places can be had alone, and what it means when Makki holds his hand as a joke and his palms start dripping with sweat.

Oikawa is deep in a monologue but it is his serve. He tosses a ball high into the air, takes his perfect steps and swats a float serve down the net.

Iwaizumi dives and keeps it up for Watari to set a nice one to Hanamaki. It's a good hit. But goes out. Matsuhana watches the cursing and comforting while Oikawa babbles, "So do you wanna be seeing anyone, Mattsun?"

"Yeah, maybe your mother. She's a beautiful woman."

"Mattsun!! Not funny!"

"Pretty funny," Iwaizumi says, appearing just to irritate Oikawa.

"But unoriginal," Hanamaki points out. "Also mothers are just not that amazing. And can we be mature, Matsukawa?"

He exhales. He can foresee a couple of paths from here, including one where Oikawa insists they all son up for online dating profiles. It would be a waste of breath though. "I'm going home, where I can be immature. You coming?"

Iwaizumi grins, Oikawa gawks and Hanamaki makes his cute little nose scrunch as he says, "Sure, but you'll need to feed me."

(It is a number of more weeks before he figures it out.)

Just getting back into ships so here are some prompts and ideas / odz / iwaoi / matsuhana and your choice

Person A has always wanted kids and decides adopting as a single parent is still adopting. It's bizarre, how easily Person B fits into this new life.

Person A fucks up their sleep schedule and ultimately becomes completely nocturnal. They meet Person B while having four am lunch.

A group of friends is together and between them and their mutuals, there are a dozen weddings being held this summer. Person A and Person B decide to attend them as a "temporary" couple.

In a supernatural world, Person A has been accused of a heinous plot and Person B, their alibi, is missing.

Truth Potion AU - you can't speak a lie when you're in the presence of someone you harbor unrequited feelings for.

In a world where the kingdom's next leader is chosen by majority vote, Person A insists that popularity contest are stupid. They may or may not nominate themselves/Person B, but they at the very least, catch the attention of the previous leader/Person B.

Hero/Villain AU where the villain is more interested in sleeping with the hero than doing anything malicious. Alternatively negotiates not doing crimes in exchange for dates.

Hero/Villian AU where the hero takes a leaf out of the other's book and the villain spends some time reprimanding them about going down the dark path.

Childhood friends AU where one of them then moves across the planet, and they keep in touch for fifteen years, before one of them visits the other.

Angst/sci-fi AU - share a consciousness so that only one of them can be conscious at any time.

Actors AU - they did a movie together two years ago, Person A is a massive dork who fell in love at first sight and has wildly failed at their desperate attempts to move on since. Their agents match them up for a new movie and maybe, things are a lot easier the second time around.

Opposite of Slow burn - a romance ending in marriage in thirty days, and lasting much longer than that.

Gameshow - a reality TV show that rewards couples who stay together through the season in spite of the hormones suffocating the house. Person A and B pretend to be a couple to win some money.
