I was an artist of  the #soundmuseum  in Brighton. MA for over 20 years, The land was bought and the artists were REMOVED _  300 + artists scattered and moved away from Allston Rock City/ Brighton. Des Desmond and Family has done  incredible work in the Boston area - helping Artists maintain affordable artist rooms - and the heinous corporate “life sciences” and the City of Boston are complicit in the diminishing of one of Boston’s most valuable assets: artists.

Slow Burn (four) 2022 - another version! 

there’s a spider dangling over my coffee cup -- i was pouring it in and she didn't look up  -- the java was jive and she was fast -- crawled out alive before i could drink the last

there’s a letter in the box from the government  -- ‘ think they're trying to find out where you went -- brand new name and your past concealed -- oh the pressure grows, but never is the truth revealed

and it's a slow burn -- sometimes you never learn -- slow burn, time to take your turn

Cop at the stop light he's looking at your plates -- i think you’re running out of gas with your lucky breaks -- step on the pedal, bang a right --with the pedal to the metal you drive off into the night

The newspaper headlines - they don't make any sense -- Someone thinks you're the audience -- before you over-react  you'll let them know you you will sign the papers, get ready for one more slow ...

When I got home, the cupboard was bare, gone were her shoes and the good silverware, the bedroom was empty, my heart emptied too, a thin line between plenty and all one can lose

the weather isn’t helping, fog and wind and rain so come on down  quick as you can, then i will explain wear a hat, keep discrete for an indistinguished disguise with all these encounters we must stay unrecognized blend in with the rest,  like a couple of regular guys my wallet is empty  i don't have cash, you can help me sell this ring who cares what it takes, we have to try everything, whatever it takes

in the cold early springtime in absence of sun my hands on the reins are swollen and numb though winter is gone i can taste on my tongue salty beef jerky and jamaican black rum

from an east Texas jailhouse i was released they said "get out of town" and they gave me a horse i asked the advice of a catholic priest he said find the north star and follow its course

Dust on the Saddle smoke in the sky the trail is winding and long when i looked for water all the wells had run dry and all i have to drink from my barrel of rum

across the gray prairies without seeing a soul into the mountains where the caverns are cold sleeping on rockface by a rattlesnake hole dreaming of fire and someone to hold

A panhandlers trail an anonymous pass fourteen more counties and a new life to come where they won't know my name or where i was last but they'll all want a taste of my rum

the hold music loops  confirms my connection I turned up the volume cranked it up so i could listen Our website has a faq to answer basic questions they didn't offer call back, now that's a feature these folks are missing.

wait -what's that  do i hear  a click i stare at my phone something's beeping wait there's some noise, is it a trick?, hold music starts  repeating repeating...
