Can you share any tips or rituals for grounding and centering, especially for beginners?
Absolutely! Grounding and centering are foundational practices in many spiritual and magical traditions. They help individuals connect with the present moment, align with their inner strength, and establish a sense of stability and balance. Here are some tips and beginner-friendly rituals for grounding and centering:
Mindful Breathing:
Find a quiet and comfortable space to sit or stand. Close your eyes and take several deep breaths, focusing on the sensation of the breath entering and leaving your body. Imagine each inhale drawing in energy from the earth, and each exhale releasing any tension or stress.
Rooting Visualization:
Visualize roots extending from the soles of your feet (or your sit bones if seated) deep into the earth, anchoring you firmly to the ground. Feel the stability and support of the earth beneath you, grounding and nourishing you with its energy.
Grounding Stones:
Hold a grounding stone such as black tourmaline, hematite, or obsidian in your hands. Close your eyes and feel its weight and solidity. Visualize any excess energy flowing down through your body and into the stone, grounding you in the present moment.
Nature Connection:
Spend time in nature, whether it's walking barefoot on the grass, sitting under a tree, or simply observing the natural world around you. Tune in to the sights, sounds, and sensations of the environment, allowing yourself to feel rooted and connected to the earth.
Body Scan Meditation:
Take a few moments to scan your body from head to toe, noticing any areas of tension or discomfort. With each breath, imagine sending soothing energy to these areas, allowing them to release and relax. Focus on cultivating a sense of calm and centeredness within yourself.
Grounding Ritual with Visualization:
Light a candle or some incense to set the mood. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and close your eyes. Take a few deep breaths, feeling the earth beneath your feet.
Visualize roots growing from the soles of your feet, reaching deep into the earth's core. Feel the stability and strength of these roots anchoring you in place.
As you inhale, imagine drawing up energy from the earth through your roots, filling your body with grounding energy. As you exhale, release any tension, stress, or excess energy down into the earth.
Continue this visualization for several minutes, focusing on your connection to the earth and the sense of groundedness it provides.
When you feel ready, open your eyes and take a moment to appreciate the grounding energy you've cultivated.
Remember that grounding and centering is a practice that you can tailor to suit your own preferences and needs. Experiment with different techniques and rituals to find what resonates most deeply with you. And above all, be patient and gentle with yourself as you cultivate this essential skill.

get the fuck away from me spell
Tumblr media
this is a basic and powerful banishment spell to keep a toxic, malicious person from influencing you, affecting your world, and attempting to hurt you. best done during a waning moon. you will need:
> black pepper (banishment, protection from evil)
> cloves (banishing hostile and negative forces)
> vinegar (banishing, binding, and averting evil)
> black and white candle
> paper and pen with black ink
> a jar with a lid
1. as you light your candles, recognize that the flame creates an aura of fire, will and strength. the black candle burns and summons protection from evil; the white candle burns and brings you cleansing and purifying. meditate on the flames and allow their warm auras to surround you.
2. write the person’s full name (if it’s known) on a small piece of paper. hold the paper in your hands and let yourself feel angry, hurt, sad, or whatever this person makes you feel. charge the paper with the pain this person has caused you, until you feel done. then, take your pen and scribble out the person’s name until it’s completely blacked out and opaque.
3. fold the paper up as many times as you can, and throw it in the jar. sprinkle the pepper and cloves over the paper, then fill the jar with vinegar. this mixture banishes their evil from you and drowns out their will and power to harm you. close the jar tightly. if you wish, use some black wax from your candle to drip onto the lid and seal the jar shut.
4. place your banishment jar in a dark, hidden place, like the bottom drawer of a dresser or the corner of a closet. keep it forever, or until you feel its purpose is fulfilled.

Curses vs. Hexes: What’s the Difference?
Tumblr media
If you were to look up the definition of both of the words on a search engine (hello, Google!) they are defined as follows:
Curse: (aside from meaning vulgar words) is “casting the evil eye or an evil spell upon someone.”
Hex: to curse someone.
Oh, dear sweet Google, you have tried your best but in this instance, every witch will tell you that you are wrong.
The general consensus is that ultimately, curses are worse than hexes; the target tends to suffer more at the hands of a curse than they do at the hands of a hex.
Curses:
Usually more serious than hexes.
Can live on through generations if that is what the caster intended.
Tend to be long-term in nature.
Usually, curses are borne of anger; of hatred and even a need for justice.
They can usually be reversed or undone; reversals can be done by the caster, and undoings may be done by the caster, target or a third party.
Hexes:
Often cast as a “one-off” piece of magick.
Their effects are apparent very quickly, but they are not long-term - seen sometimes as an instantaneous form of malevolent magick.
Hexes are borne of revenge and/or annoyance, and they usually cause irritation and subsequent annoyance to the target - hexes are a way for the caster make their target feel what they have been made to feel for a short time.
Due to their nature, hexes are usually over and done with quickly and do not require a reversal or undoing.
Both of these forms of magick, are forms of malevolent magick that is used for many reasons.
Some people curse their abusers, or people who have hurt them and some people hex their ex-partners, or someone who has brushed them up the wrong way. Like all magick, what you do is circumstantial and no one can tell you whether you should or should not perform magick of this kind (I am pro-curse and hex, but not everyone is).
Common Cursing & Hexing Components:
Taglocks:
Bodily fluids (blood, spit, semen, menstrual blood, tears, urine, etc.)
Fingernails.
Hair.
Photographs.
Personal possessions.
Poppets.
Usernames/nicknames/names.
Herbs/Plants:
Cayenne Pepper
Chilli
Lemon
Black Pepper
Thistle
Thorns
Poppies
Mold
Other items:
Nails (rusted for potency)
Razor blades
String/yarn/chord
Cemetery Dirt
War Water
Needles
Bones
Vinegar
Mirror (broken or whole)
Broken glass
Dead Wasps
You’ll notice that I’ve bunched the common ingredients for curses and hexes in one list - that is because these two are simply lesser and greater forms of the same kind of magick, so you must bear in mind what your intent is when you choose your spell/ritual ingredients.
Do you want to frustrate, annoy and irritate your target? Do you want to bring them bad luck? Do you want to bring them untold misery? Consider this carefully.
*The word “hex” is used in modern witchcraft to describe a mild form of baneful magic[k], but if you want to know more about the word’s history, click here for a fantastic post by @athenathewitch .

In need of spell help
So I have an issue... Being my family. I have made excuses for my parents long enough. They are racists, and now even anti-mask. to quote my dad apparently: "american people arent gonna be led around like sheep"
I want to distance myself from them, the only problem being that my brother lives with them and is unable to move out. He's on disability and can't afford to live anywhere else.
I'm unsure of how to go about this. I have made a talisman for my brother to ward off negative energy, and made one for myself as well, but I live in a different state than them and honestly I just wish I could cut them off.
If anyone has any witchcraft related advice on spells or rituals that may help, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, and much love ❤️

Here’s a quick little inforgraphic I put together on numbers in Tarot!
When I was just a baby Tarot reader still learning how to read the cards, I found it helpful to learn about the numbers in Tarot and how they can have similar meanings. By learning how numbers relate and progress I was able to learn the Minor Arcana quicker and with more accuracy.
If you’re just starting out with Tarot, take some time to do a deeper dive into the numbers and what they mean! It truly helps out with the learning process 🔮
