Let's look at cannon, shall we?

Ethan Nakamura is a revolutionary and considered "marginalized" within the immortal world. He's a son of a minor god who took his eye just so he could find a war so he could be heard. He died for his cause and then is used as a statement (he only gets mentioned in pertaining to a big three child and his mother.), his work is taken over and taken credit by a blonde woman.

Jason grace on the other hand is the Gods lapdog. He's a son of Zeus, was deemed perfectly fit by Aphrodite, is literally Hera's champion, Lupa's champion. He decided to take up making alters to the minor gods because he was slightly inconvenienced.

Ethan died for his belief, the belief that all gods should get a cabin and proper recognition. He never got recognized for that, then Jason did the same thing AND TOOK CREDIT FOR IT.

Wouldn't be the first time a white man has taken the credit for a person of color.

(A really niche, if not, non existent head cannon about Will Solace I can't stop thinking about)

Will Solace is one of those people who sees cannibalism as a metaphor for all consuming love.

He is someone who has lost DOZENS of people in the titan war, his siblings, his friends. He grew with a mother that probably wasn't there due to her job and an absentee father that was... horrible for most of his life. And it affected him more than he thinks it does.

We see in the Sun and the Star he references the fact that Persephone ate the pomegranate see and he saw it as a symbolic gesture of being with someone you love forever (Even if that wasn't the intention) we see him value being close with the people he's with..

I think early on he's always had this odd obsession with the human body, the muscles, the veins, the way that the flesh seems to stutter underneath his touch. And I do think that it had DEEPLY affected him.

I like to think that one time Will had bitten Nico as a form of affection, causing Nico to reel away and tell him not to do so. And of course, Will didn't do it again, but he saw that as Nico rejecting his affection.

I like to think that Will wants to be eaten rather than eating others. He wants to physically underneath people's skin, he wants to be able to sustain others, he wants their attention to be on him all the time. He wants to know that he is loved for more than just his appearance. Not just his outward appearance but the act he puts on for others.

Also, I think he really likes vampires.

I swear I'm going insane because am I the only one in the PJO fandom who finds it unfunny and creepy whenever someone jokes about Percy and Will looking exactly the same? (See. Percy's Actor)

I have my issues with Solangelo and most of that is boiled down to relatively 3 problems.

1.the entirety of the relationship is entirely about Nico and what he wants.

2.I may be wrong on this, but its almost framed like a rebound for Nico right after he crushed on Percy, we literally see the start of his relationship with Will

3.People are so desperate to make Will the same boring white skinned, blond hair, blue eyed himbo and its not creative. (He's texan, and literally born near HOUSTON. its like the second most diverse city in the US)

Now I know that I've ranted about stuff like this before, but its been getting on my nerves whenever I see someone joke around like "Oh now we know why Nico went after Will! haha! so funny, Will is like a carbon copy of Percy and bl-

Do you not see what that actually implies? That Nico's attraction to Will is almost entirely shallow. And it just reinforces the narrative that Will was basically a rebound for Nico rather than someone who Nico genuinely loved for his personality. And at this point, yeah I could see him being just that. I wish I could say that I love Solangelo but not when its ALL about Nico and how Nico secretly still pines over Percy.

Its so creepy when someone tries to make Will Solace anything like Percy Jackson, especially when someone tries to bring Nico's attraction to Percy in the mix. I swear there's more to this than just the above but I can't put it into words right now.

(Also, this is not a safe space to bash Walker Scobell, A. Its not his fault the fandoms weird about it. B. He's almost my age, AKA like 14? so don't even try to bother a minor.

With the release of chalice of the gods (which I got to attend at benoraya hall) I must remind the 3 strangers that see my post that I LOVE Titan Scum Will Solace.

Especially with the sun and the star. As much as I objectively dislike that book, it did have some interesting characterization moments that could be AMAZING set ups.

And I don't mean it like silena where she didn't really know what she was doing and was officially apart of the army. I mean it like not even the Titan army knew he was aware of what they were doing. Like he was the reason that ethan survived the Andromeda blast. And I'm just imagining this big scene where like Thanatos points out that yeah, Will may or may not have done some... questionable things

and Nicos wondering like "what? Huh?"

And Will slowly turns to him and murmurs "I tried to tell you."
