thanks for checking this blog out though! while it lasted, it was fun making posts/silly stuff abt the bau fam and talking w y’all about them :D

Not to be *that* person but as an autistic person I have to say Reid autism is not canonical. Canon means something is explicitly stated in the text. The show went out of its way to not outright state he's autistic despite showing he posesses nearly every well known manifestation of autistic traits.

They had Blake apologise for suggesting he had Asperger's (an outdated diagnosis) like it was something to be ashamed of. They had her suggest it like a joke in the first place too and other members of the team laughed.

Reid as a character is coded very strongly as autistic but the show was as shitty at representing it as it was other stuff (you know what I mean) and we deserved better.

Hi guys,

As you all know, I live with a Chronic illness called Crohn’s Disease. Crohn’s is an Inflammatory Bowel Disease and IBD currently effects 1.3% of the American population—roughly 3 million people.

Part of managing this disease is medication. I am currently on Humira which is a biweekly injection to help suppress my immune system to help with the inflammation in my body. And so far, it’s worked. I still have bad days, but everyone does.

However, before my insurance would pay for this medication I was required to be on a drug that was not even FDA approved to treat Crohn’s disease and had shown in a number of studies to be ineffective in the treatment of the disease when used as a mono therapy. This is called Step Therapy and a number of IBD patients experience this. Insurance will oftentimes require us to “fail” an insurer-preferred drug (use it for x amount of time and then see how we feel—spoiler it usually doesn’t work) before they will pay for the drug that our healthcare provider has requested.

But this Step Therapy can be dangerous. It can lead to disease flares, under management of a disease and in some cases, total colectomies (removal of the colon).

So, I just want to ask a simple favor. Please sign the petition in the link below regarding step therapy. What the Crohn’s and Colitis foundation is trying to do is pass The Safe Step Act and make step therapy more transparent. Right now, it’s incredibly opaque and we get varying vague answers from insurance. This bill, if passed would allow patients, if deemed necessary by their provider to completely skip step therapy so that they can be started on the drug they need. This medication for some people can literally be life saving. And, after you sign, if you wouldn’t mind sharing this wherever with whomever so that they can get as many signatures as possible.

As students...

Spencer prefers just staying in and studying, but will frequently be dragged to parties by his best friend JJ. At first, he goes just to make her happy, but eventually he sees this girl named Elle Greenaway and now he is practically jumping at the opportunity to go to another party. That’s lucky for JJ because she made out with this hot brunette named Emily last time and she can’t get her out of her head.

Derek gets into college on a full football scholarship. Everyone thinks he’s just the typical jock, but he impresses everyone in his classes with his intelligence too. Is love by all students and teachers alike.

Aaron never parties and only occasionally takes breaks from studying to go on dates with Haley. 

Rossi goes out drinking all the time and somehow still manages to pass his classes. He’s naturally smart, but also a sweet talker.

Matt is beyond frazzled. Not just because he’s a college student, but he’s a college student with a wife and two babies already. He’s dedicated though, and sociable, even though he never parties.

Luke hits it off with Spencer in one of their chemistry classes. Spencer didn’t think they’d get along because Luke’s a jock, but Luke is always genuinely interested when Spencer speaks and the two become fast friends.

Alex takes all the English classes. Literally all of them. All the professors think she’s a joy to have in class.

Tara is great in class, but she has to work at it. At parties, she becomes the either the mom friend or the bad influence, there is no in between.

Fic prompt: Cat Adams finds out she was duped by Max.

A few after she returns to prison, Cat Adams receives an envelope with no return address. Inside is a single photo of Spencer Reid and Max Brennan kissing beneath the cherry blossoms. Furious, she flips it over. In looping handwriting, too neat to belong to her favorite federal agent, someone has written Checkmate, Cat. Her blood boils. That’s not possible. That’s just not possible. There’s no way she would still be with him. She made sure of that.

After bribing a guard to search databases for her, she learns that there was no man shot in a domestic dispute at the time Max claimed. She was lying. Which meant she must’ve been in on it all along - which means the BAU knew. That bitch. How dare she? How dare she ruin her game. How dare she love him.

Cat screams. 

“Pipe down over there!” a woman yells from a cell further down.

“Tell me again and I’ll take a pipe to your face next time I catch you in the showers!” she shouts back. The woman doesn’t respond. 

She stares at the photo. She’s been bested. There’s no time left for another game, and even if there were she’s run out of moves to make on the board. Spencer will never agree to see her again, never respond to a letter, never ever wonder about her. Cat screams again. She tears the photo in two, ripping Max out of the frame. 

She hangs up the torn bit on her wall, tells herself it’s just Spencer under the cherry blossoms. Tells herself that when he’s kissing that bitch, he’s thinking of her. He’ll be wishing it was her instead.

Even though she knows, deep in her heart, he won’t.
