Iruka’s nerves were nearly shot by the time he reached Kakashi’s house. He sat in his car for longer than was polite in an attempt to quell his anxiety. Taking a few deep breaths, he held tightly to whatever courage he had summoned and slowly walked toward the front door. It opened before he reached it, a smiling Kakashi greeting him. He couldn’t control the thundering of his heart when he took in the white tank top that clung to every line of muscle on the man’s torso or the jeans that fit him like a second skin. Gulping harshly, Iruka returned Kakashi’s smile with one of his own.
“Hi. How are you?” Iruka asked.
“I’ve been well. Busy but well,” Kakashi replied, “Come on in and you can tell me about your day while I get the steaks ready and throw together a salad.”
