the Teen Wolf girlies strictly in-date because they're all too afraid to bring anybody else into their circle of death. Stiles tries to have sex with a non-supernaturally inclined girl? ritual sacrifice. Malia has sex with a totally normal dude? Ghost Rider victim. even the ones who only date within their group don't have awesome luck. Scott? my man has a solid one out of three average, which is actually a highlight for the group. Isaac? one girlfriend; super dead. Lydia? she's got a revived lizard man with identity issues, a police officer, and another dead boy (no revival this time, RIP) under her belt. if comphet doesn't take her out, one of her weird little boyfriends surely will eventually. Derek has the worst dating history of any living person ever, let's not even talk about him. so sure, their dating pool is a little shallow, but that's a good thing for the rest of society, I think. they're doing the public a favor.

Body positivity is for a person who wishes to think positively about the appearance of their body.
No one is forcing YOU to find their body attractive.
No one is asking for YOUR “health expertise.”
No one is even telling you to look.
If you don’t like the way someone looks, look away and move on. It’s really not that hard.

I have been anorexic since I was 15 or 16. I'm now 22 and my body is refusing to keep up with my restrictive eating habits. I'm starting to experience scary and frankly very dangerous health issues, but at this point I'm terrified to take even the most basic harm reduction measures.
Your body WILL NOT tolerate your disordered eating forever. You WILL get sicker the longer you suffer from this life-ruining disease. Your honeymoon period WILL end, and you will find yourself caught, miserable, in a loveless marriage to your ED.
A 30-year-old body is not as resilient as a 25-year-old body is not as resilient as a 20-year-old body is not as resilient as a teenage body.
Recover.

The Owl House ending and shows to "replace" it:
WITHOUT SPOILERS...are we happy about how The Owl House ended? I haven't watched the final season/episode yet (prolonging it cuz I wish the show hadn't gotten cancelled). To those who watched: Do you feel it was a good, satisfactory ending?
Also, below other shows to watch that will fill the animated hole in your heart if you are a THO fan (*for shows still on air at the time of posting [04/11/23]):
- Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir*: Two teens in Paris have secret identities as superheroes and fight to ssave the city from villains. Very anime inspired, campy, and romantic.
- The Ghost & Molly McGee*: Molly and her family unknowingly move into a haunted house. Molly meets Ghost. Chaos ensues.
- Hamster & Gretel*: From the creators of Phineas and Ferb, a little girl and her pet hamster are secretly superheroes.
- Big City Greens*(same universe as THO and Amphibia): A family moves from the country to the city and has to navigate the culture shock. Slice of life, features divorced co-parents, a formerly incarcerated parent, very diverse.
-Star vs. the Forces of Evil: Magical girl meets human boy and they have wacky adventures when people from her realm and Earth collide.
- Gravity Falls: The OG of Disney's "animated shows full of great lore that's almost too deep and intense to just be for kids". Tale of twins who move to a mysterious town and spend the summer trying figure out the magical history of it.
-Amphibia (similar vibe/same universe as THO): Human girl gets transported to a magical world of anthropomorphic amphibians and has to find a way back home.
- Duck Tales (2017 reboot) or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2012 reboot)

THIS!!! People are quick to say every show or movie is "unoriginal", but I don't think that's the issue. Yes, some things are derivative but a) That's not always a bad thing and b) The sheer EXCESS of TV channels, streaming platforms, content on said platforms...is part of the problem. It's overwhelming. Saturday Night Live actually has a great skit about how there's just SO MUCH being released constantly, that it's hard to keep track of. It's so much harder for a production to truly shine or stand out, even if it's technically popular (in terms having large fan bases and millions of views).
(Below I've tagged some current shows on various platforms I think fit into this topic.)
i actually don’t think y’all understand how disillusioned i am with tv these days… the industry is dead to me. not for the reasons most fandom people say that like oh my fave died my fave couple broke up etc etc no. i think tv is dead because it literally is DEAD. its become so oversaturated that there is literally no way to rake through the muck to find the gems of good story. media has always been profit driven but the evolution to let’s create as much content as possible to beat out our competitors but only give them 1.5 seasons if that and make sure they have record-breaking streaming numbers – a meaningless, MEANINGLESS metric when it comes to the quality of the storytelling – within two days or they get the axe guaranteed and every single thing being a cheap and soulless IP adaptation that fans are happy to gobble down just to say they have it rather than actually see it as a faithful interpretation bc money money money and i swear if i see one more gd star marvel wars piece of property i will lose it. in this essay i will,

I find I have to mention this to people a lot: the way to check your own fandom racism or anti-blackness isn’t how you react to the flawless POC characters, but how you react when POC characters have flaws.
Like, I’ve known people who tear down Simone from The Good Place, and when I pointed out that none of her flaws are even close to those of Eleanor, from season one or even currently, and suggested that they should consider whether biases are influencing their hatred for the character, they cited their love for Shuri from Black Panther, and characters like her. Shuri is not a hard character to love; she never challenges the audience to see her in a complex way. She is funny, smart, and never burdensome to anyone.
Myself, I hated Katara from Avatar when I was younger. Now, I am able to identify the internalized misogyny and racism in my dislike for her; I hated her because she was inconvenient at times and wasn’t always nice to the characters I liked. Similar deal with Frank Zhang from Heroes of Olympus. But both of those characters (and all characters) were significant for what they represented.
Fandom racism isn’t just hating POC characters for no reason or ignoring POC ships; it also manifests in the double-standard where we’re willing to forgive white characters for more things than POC characters.

As protests against injustice in legal system, discrimination, police brutality spread through the US, it is necessary to educate yourself about these issues.
Here are some recommendations, include both non-fiction and fiction about racism and challenges that black people face throughout their lifetimes.
