okay i'll be honest i packed my bags up two days ago in regards to buddie bc i had read the leaked scripts and saw the "brother" on there and then while watching previous episodes i noticed all the big buddie hints were all more focused on buck than eddie (but then again 90% of the show is more focused on buck than eddie. not particularly mad about it but i'd like more of eddie) and i thought that it's over, because i thought the writers never thought of eddie as queer in any form ever and he's a straight man to them...
then the episode didn't have "brother" and THEN I FIND OUT THAT RIGHT UNTIL FILMING EPISODES 2 AND 3, EDDIE was supposed to kiss tommy?? and have the sexuality discovery arc?!?
now i'm back more than ever. just the fact that in the writers' minds, there is a possibility of queer eddie is enough for me. now eddie is literally gay to me, and nothing will change it, and all i need is for him to realize it (aka for the writers to actually put the words down)... tim also talked about how he actually intended to write stuff with natalia but then the actress left and he had to come up with something for marisol... oh we were so so close.
i think it can still happen btw. the words used were "fell through" and idk what the reasons are obviously (many ppl think it's bc ryan doesn't want to do it and i don't like him either but the switch up being so last minute makes me think not) and i hope it's just that they realized they need more time to dedicate to this for eddie bc his character would struggle a lot more with any kind of queerness than buck (he's not as experimental, repression king, catholic guilt, mexican macho man culture) and that would need way more than like 7 episodes to address and delve into.
i am happy for bi buck and glad he's gonna get a good, romcom-esque arc exploring himself along with tommy (i like bucktommy too) but god, i just caught up on seasons 5 and 6 and it made me love and connect so much more with eddie and even if not for buddie - although that would be a bonus (and logical next step) - i need eddie to figure out himself and come out and finally be free and happy and follow his heart.

ok i’m suddenly fixated on 911 and buddie after that episode and here’s 3 points in the final scene that makes me think (hope) that it’s all leading to buddie canon.
it literally felt like eddie was the third person in the room even though he wasn’t in it. the conversation began with eddie and they mention eddie so many times and even christopher. and that would be clue enough as it is but then the whole scene ends with yet another mention of eddie. eddie is so linked to this entire arc of buck.
tommy mentioned that he’s a jealous guy too, and that his jealousy was of the fact that the 118 are so close knit and like a family. he also talked about how eddie, christopher and buck are inseparable and that he could never come between them. now idk if this is the makings of an eventual storyline between them but it’s just very interesting to me. like stans have said before, no love interest is ever going to be a bigger force in either of buck or eddie’s lives than each other, and that counts for male love interests too.
the infamous “MY attention?” “i guess so”… yeah that’s pretty self explanatory, after talking about eddie so much and how buck is irreplaceable in eddie’s life and tommy being envious too that they’re so close knit, it comes as a surprise to tommy itself that buck wants HIS attention. (for the record, i do believe that buck wanted his attention, i think he wanted both their attention. i don’t think he’s mistaken in any way, i think he feels real attraction to tommy… but also to eddie although he doesn’t realize it yet).
so yeah idk eddie being so intrinsically linked in buck’s self discovery about his attraction to men is very telling about where they could be going with this. even if they don’t have a plan about that, it’s writing themselves into a corner by having them be so intertwined in this storyline (i mean why even bother implying buck is jealous of tommy, having him trying to grab eddie’s attention, and Have Eddie Show Up At His First Date With A Man if something wasn’t cooking between them lmao) i’m gonna be even more suspicious about this if eddie is the first one that buck comes out to; or not even come out, but if he talks to eddie about his attraction to tommy/men before even figuring himself out completely. like involving eddie in that huge part of his journey has to be something.
or i’m a clown and all this is just purposely done as a red herring of some sort lol but it’s very hard to see that now i gotta say

buddies now going "oh i don't mind if they don't give us buddie now" is kinda annoying me like sure i want buck to figure himself out properly first and i'm sure tommy is the plot device for that and will be gone soon after it but the writers and network are definitely going around checking reactions and if y'all clog the tag up saying that you don't need buddie anymore we're not gonna get it!!!!!!!

Guys.
Hang on. Stay with me for a second.
I thought of a way that 911 can still refuse to give us Bi!Buck.
What if Tommy has a kid and he and Eddie are bonding over the fact that they’re both dads?? Buck will feel replaced in a best friend way, but also in a “he doesn’t have a kid” way. And the jealousy is from the fact that he didn’t realize how much he wants a kid until he realizes that everyone around him has one. He’s jealous that Tommy and Eddie share being dads, and he doesn’t. And then Eddie comes over and says something about how Christopher is like a son to Buck.

i'm so glad goncharov happened when it did, right before prolific public use of AI. that was pure honest gaslighting straight from the heart. real human whimsicality and trickery thru blood sweat and tears. we were a family. and we all gonched, together. you cant replicate that with any machine.

i mean i'd agree otherwise but i don't think poor things is the right example to explain this bc in that portugal scene (and some others) people do react to bella's strangeness and give her side-eyes but for the most part they don't react because stylistically the movie isn't grounded in any form of reality. and no one giving a fuck about the head banging was very obviously for comedic value. i definitely agree that npc background characters are a plague recently but people being unfazed by the odd in a yorgos lanthimos film is something i'm unfazed by because that's most probably intentional.
