So I just saw a post by a random personal blog that said “don’t follow me if we never even had a conversation before” and?????? Not to be rude but literally what the fuck??????????

I’ve had people (non-pornbots) try to strike conversation out of nowhere in my DMs recently, and now I’m wondering if they were doing that because they wanted to follow me and thought they needed to interact first. I feel compelled to say, just in case, that it’s totally okay to follow this blog (or my side blog, for that matter) even if we’ve never talked before.

Also, I’m legit confused. Is this how follow culture works right now? It was worded like it’s common sense but is that really a thing?

Nope.

People who make these blanket statements are very frequently proven wrong when the creator comes out as a member of that group. And even when they aren't proven wrong, even in cases where the creator isn't from the group in question, actual members of the group who don't fit whatever arbitrary criteria are being expressed will see these statements and feel excluded and erased.

Not everyone in your group is going to share your experiences. No single individual gets to personally decide what does or doesn't count as a "valid" expression of trauma or being part of a particular group, and creators are also not obligated to out themselves in order to "prove" their validity.

If something doesn't resonate with you, all that means is that it doesn't resonate with you. You don't have to like it. But you don't get to decide what it means to someone else.

really cool article about the FBI ignoring a neo nazi mass shooter who would eventually commit a mass shooting at a gay nightclub so they could focus on planting a pink haired cop in a protest movement and get her to introduce these protestors to some hilariously obvious undercover cops posing as arms dealers. the SOMEX parts of this are serious tho they are using social media to gather info on protestors and target them and fabricate charges and make their lives hell and it is causing the death of movements like this.

My morning routine as a creature in the caves of Svalbard:

4:00 am - Get up, go to the bunker and scratch on the walls. Maybe whisper a bit

6:00 am - go back to sleep for an hour

7:00 am - Wake up and have a bath in the freezing water

7:45 am - Eat some fish, a slow, relaxed breakfast

8:15 - Do my rounds of the caves, check no one has gotten in while I slept

9:00 am - If there's no one there to torment, I do some light reading

10:00 am - Sort out any new teeth boxes or just do some general tidying to make sure the ominous atmosphere remains

11:00 am - Make my way up to the bunker to destroy some equipment

1:30 pm - Lunch

2:30 pm - Make my way up to the bunker to imitate someone there

3:45 pm - Go back to the village and wander

5:00 pm - If no one has come down, I might go back up and do some more imitating

6:00 pm - check up on the snow storm

7:00 pm - My work day is over

7:30 pm - eat dinner (more fish, a polar bear or someone I caught)

8:15 pm - More reading, maybe distort the twisting passages

10:30 pm - I go to sleep
