from chapter 10 of Famous Last Words in May Death Never Stop You by the amazing @slexenskee
I've wanted to draw this scene ever since I read it lmao. Fun fact I was eating lunch at the time and I was laughing so hard I had to leave the room since someone was watching tv. Good times, good times.
sometimes i think about how rukkha using her powers to protect everyone causes her to become small and vulnerable, yet she never had someone (like a familiar) there to protect and take care of her during those times… i wish nahida never has to wake up alone and confused again.
Truly my best advice for a life filled with small delights is befriending a group of people who get weird about the same thing you get weird about in compatible ways so you can be weird together.
marine biology is so scary because it’s such a small field. i was giving a talk on cetaceans and afterward a woman approached me with her husband and she said, “you did very well. [husband’s name] actually pioneered the research and published the first paper on that. We were very impressed by you.”
Which is such a scientific interpretation/public education win I will cherish forever but also for the rest of my life any time I give a talk I will be haunted by the knowledge that the world’s leading expert who literally discovered/invented the topic might be in the room,
which is like, the opposite of what you’re supposed to do for stage fright. In fact I never used to experience stage fright but now I will.
(i have a feeling this poll will get way more views than some of my other ones so I am once again asking you to fill out https://forms.gle/66bRngwjD2fzWX7p6 if you know anything about the character)
Rules: you can tell a lot about a person by the music they listen to. Put a playlist on shuffle, list the first 10 songs and then tag people to keep it going!
Aight I'll bite; I do love my music
For starters all of my playlists of Themed(tm), mostly on stories/fanfics or fandoms, so it's not all of my music in a jumble but rather what I custom pick for the vibes of the story and the section thereof. For this I'll use one of my larger FT/HTRYDS playlists since I think it's my largest at 134 songs. (I have too many playlists but also not enough. send help)
For funsies I'll add which character section each is in lol

Tagging @lilyntlrs @thehylianidiot @ljf613 @cobrakiin @kiliinstinct @genavere @creaticare @phoenix-before-the-flame @forwantofacalling @breezy-cheezy and uhhhhhh whoever else wants to do (as I forget all of my music loving friends' urls lmao whoops) (or ignore this, yall know how tag games be)
You reblogged something about how people choose if they read a fix or not; I think it’s funny, I’ve been reading fics since the 2000s and I’ve always gone by the author’s own summary. I don’t need it to be fancy, I just want it to tell me what I’m getting out of it XD. People do MATH to decide on fics to read???
(whoops I forgot to answer this when it was relevant)
yeah that was wild to me too. Never would have guessed that people did ratio math for that, but these days, I'm not terribly surprised. Disappointed, but not surprised. Anyway. Summaries and tags are definitely my go to, with the tags being a sort of summary part 2. Usually there's a tag in there that'll make me more excited, but I have some turn-offs too. (Back in the Olden Days, I went in blind and was either good shocked or bad shocked by whatever I read, but I normally finished those suckers anyway ahaha.)
Platonic Week is plowing on ahead, and by the end of this month I will lock down the prompts and announce the week. As for the prompts, I will be taking suggestions~
(poll will be open until ~April 27th and I should have the official week announcement by the 30th)
