For the nineteenth game, Roll plus heart is returning to the game that started it all, Thirsty Sword Lesbians by April Kit Walsh. The first episode is out today as we jump back into the lives of Jaz, Juniper and Tiddles six months after their victory on Mytilene. Will the players somehow be even more chaotic? Will I remember to ask people to roll dice? Listen and find out.

The eighteenth game we played on Roll Plus heart was ‘Honey Heist’ by Grant Howitt. Helen ran this one about three bears trying to break into Honey Con 69. Honey Heist was the first game we ever tried to record for RPH but the audio quality wasn’t great so will forever be a lost episode

It’s the five year anniversary of me coming out as Trans. Half a decade of being myself which is cool as hell. The biggest thing I did this year was finally going on my long delayed trip to Japan. Travelling while Trans is a lot scarier than when I was pretending to be Cis, but worth it for the amazing experiences I had on that trip.
I’m also off to Manchester to celebrate by seeing Manchester Orchestra at the Academy tonight. Just a lovely turn of fate that one of my favourite bands is playing on this meaningful date.

The Seventeenth game we’re playing On Roll Plus Heart is ‘Mall Kids’ by Matthew Gravelyn. This was a GM-less game and we really indulged in our early noughties memories and nostalgia to bring these four disparate teens to life as they try their best just to make it through the work day and maybe also stop a string of thefts.

The sixteenth game we’re playing on Roll Plus Heart is ‘Sail the Oceans Queer’ By La Lionne Publishing. Becs is running this one shot and after not recording for like a month and a half it felt great to jump back in with this joyous, gay, high fantasy, pirate adventure, with this unlikely trio of found family. If you’ve never listened to Roll Plus heart before I feel like this one shot is a great place to start!

Slipping this in on the last day of Pride, I wanted to practice some more with Clip Studio Paint so drew this queer ass picture from the Kids on Brooms arc of Roll Plus Heart.

The Fifteenth game we’re playing on Roll Plus Heart is Brindlewood Bay by Jason Cordova. Jen is running this mini arc which meant that I had to attempt to come up with a substantive character for once. A tall order when the majority of my one shot characters have been one-note chaos entities. I hope you’ll check in on our cosy trio of Grannies as they solve murder mysteries with sinister undertones in the coming weeks.

The fourteenth game we played was ‘Here we Used to Fly’ by Kurt Refling. This was a GM-less game and we vibed so hard with the concept of adults revisiting an abandoned theme park from their youth and reliving the experiences they had there. In part two we explore my character's experience of being a closeted trans kid and I really appreciated the mechanics of this fantastic game allowing for me to show the nuance of that specific lived experience.

The thirteenth game we played on Roll Plus Heart was The Great Soul Train Robbery by Alexi Sargeant. I ran this one and brought with me my traditional level of low key horror. When it came time to draw the PCs Jen and Helen’s characters had pretty clear inspiration but when it came to Becs, I just went with what I was watching at the time, which was Poker Face.

The twelfth game we played was Event Planning in Zero G by Jen Martin. Helen ran this one and when Jen pitched that her character looked like a biblically accurate angel during character creation, I put my head in my hands knowing I'd have to draw it at a later stage.

The eleventh game we played was Something is Wrong With This House by Anna Landin and Jonah Baumann. Bec's ran this one and we really leaned into peak horror tropes in order to scare this detestably bougee family from our Edinburgh flat. Also, Helen played a possessed Baby Wee wee, so…

The tenth game we played was A Very Northern Christmas by Grant Howitt. Jen ran this christmas special in which a multiverse of Sean Bean's team up to break the curse that results in them dying in every film. It’s fair to say that none of us could do a great Sean Bean impression even with the ‘O2’ on ramp but we sure gave it a go!

The Ninth game we played was Kids on Brooms by Doug Levandowski, Jonathan Gilmour and Spenser Starke. I ran this one but also Becs played their same character from Kids on Bikes, isekai’d into this fantasy world. I was heavily inspired by things like The Owl House and Amphibia and wanted to stay far away from any wizard tropes you might find in the notorious terf books. I adore the world we built together as a group and would love to return to it through the lens of other characters who attend the sandcastle and perhaps other game formats.

The eighth game we played ws Killer Ratings by Ken Lowery. I ran this game and loved the format so much, taking all the aspects that the players added to each room and twisting them round in horrifying and haunted ways. There’s also some gentle homages to the unsolved ghoul boys of which many of us were fans.
