hi there! im always looking for new writers and artists to follow and since i trust your judgement i thought id ask you if you had any recommendations? poetry especially tbh my dash is dead 😭

aw that's sweet of u anon!! unfortunately i don't rlly have too many people i'd recommend since i haven't rlly been ??? active aha?? but let me like dig through my following list for a minute ig!

artists (their activity varies but i do love all of their art a lot haha?): ryegarden, littlestpersimmon, jadeddraws, pencilscratchins, corvophobia, 11thsense, and sabertoothwalrus are all super cool artists and you can probably find more via the recommended blogs or ppl they reblog from!

poets: i don't know any others off the top of my head but do recommend glasswaters and inkskinned if you don't already follow them!

for writing btw, they're obviously not original posts but i do follow blogs like luthienne, weltenwellen, and firstfullmoon to find poetry/other mediums of writing and people whose styles i like. they post a lot of excerpts from books and essays etc and fairly consistently so it's quite nice tbh!

summary:  When she was eleven Linh flooded a city and choked on all of it, the terror, the calling. They sank down and down and Linh flailed out onto the shore weeping and with her mother’s fingers tight around her arm, with her father’s disapproval cloying on her tongue. Tam pulled her out of their parents’ grip and the ocean roared at them louder than anything Linh has ever come to know, blue blue blue and whipping into the shape of her name. It clawed at her lungs like it wanted to fill them with seawater, like thousands of people was never going to be enough, like it would take devouring her beating heart whole for it to stop.

notes: so many things. so many notes. he/she marella. if you are still confused at the end of the fic pls refer to the ao3 notes which are 80 times more intensive and explain everything I cannot in a tumblr post at 12 in the morning. to summarize i thought about linh too hard this week and then projectile-vomited a year’s worth of worldbuilding and internet-learned nonsense (there’s a glossary in the ao3 notes lmao). pls forgive me. EDIT: some changes made to this fic in terms of muslim!marella and more cultural details + accuracy as to her faith

Me drawing only busts and not full bodies? It’s more likely than you’d think. Anyways, here’s me posting actual art for once. It’s Della, and I saw a post somewhere saying she had colbat blue eyes and not teal, which makes sense since it’s most,y associated with Alden’s side of the family.

Della looks so good but does she look like she could be Biana’s mom? I mean she’s got a bit of a longer face and the drawing I did of Biana has a bit of a rounded one. I like to think since it’s based of their portrait in Everglen that it was painted while Biana was pretty young, like 11.

YEAHHH!!! honestly real and true that's so valid but yes <3 i'm so excited idk what exactly to cover but i'm honestly having so much fun w it. ik the general topic of my brother's songs so i'm like. trying to make. levity? if that makes sense? the goal is to have softer. less Deep more soft songs (like close to you by the carpenters and idk. maybe landslide by fleetwood mac?? both dad-approved™️) to balance out the rawness of what my brother's music tends to be, and also to convince him that no we cannot perform all of his songs hfmsbdndn or else i'm going to like perform alessia cara's entire discography and we're all going to have to deal with it

yes absolutelyyy!!! idk if u meant to listen to or perform but i've heard both of them before and the lyrics and music are just so.... yeah <3 sleeping at last just is so capable of evoking so many emotions via both composition and lyrical content like. How!!!!! i would actually play a sleeping at last song at the concert if i could but i don't think i could do the piano parts justice yet tbh.

and i'm doing ok!!! tired bc sick and then making myself do a lot of work on top of it but other than that alright <3 like ok. perhaps i am super stressed and kind of selectively responsive to ppl's messages bc of school times lmao (i cannot WAITTTHJDFHJS for summer i miss all of u) and ALSO can't sing because of being sick (it's been a Week and i had to cancel voice class bc at that point i couldnt even talk it is simply ick times) but generally!!! i drew something new that i liked and i read some very good books and i've listened to some lovely music and downloaded a bunch of albums into my phone so i don't have to use spotify anymore and stuff + i've been journaling a bit after a long time simply Not doing that. so it is good times if u scrape away all of the usual stuff fhjsn :))) i'm happy!! how r u though stardust??

Keefe grins beatifically at him, and despite the fact his teeth are crooked, he still looks angelic, and with the way he shakes his hair, preening, Tam’s suddenly aware of the fact that Keefe’s eyes are a brilliant blue that has an uncanny way of capturing one’s attention, despite blending in with his pale skin - though his defining features would no doubt be his lips, that are shimmer ever so slightly with the faint sheen of lipgloss.

“Good enough to accept defeat?” Keefe replies, though his smile is less sharp and more slanted into a grin of marigold yellow and something Linh would call a honeymoon bliss.

There’s light spooling out of the window the first time he hears the name Keefe Sencen in what feels like an eternity.

There’s a poetic metaphor hidden somewhere, in the way his hair falls loosely over his shoulders, still as messy as the photo he remembers in a distant memory of childhood, rose tinted memories of a boy with a crossed tongue and a too bright laugh and too bright smile.

Though the fact that he somehow knows Keefe doesn’t make the fact that pairing up with the boy who somehow single handedly managed to become his rival in the music industry and who he’s pretty sure absolutely hates him any easier - simply because “”the people voted for it.””

Tam is pretty sure that he's never thought like this. Nor does he want to contemplate the reality that people think like this. These terrible, terrible words are just going to leave his mouth because of — the consequence of the thoughtless music fans, and him and Keefe's apparent music.

He doesn't bother to return the bright smile being thrown by Keefe in his direction that’s tinged with curiosity and…. apprehension, instead focusing his attention on the offending paper in front of him. Which he must read out on camera. On camera .

Linh is going to see this. Biana is going to see this. Linh is going to find this and record this for posterity and show this to Biana and Marella and anyone else she can get her hands on.
