What kind of song does Taylor need to write for the academy to acknowledge her songwriting talent? A classic country pop, a clever ear-worm pop song, a self-written love letter, a gut-wrenching folk ballad with metaphors you could write 13 pages essay about, a 10 minutes long dream-pop personal confession that doesn't feel like 10 minutes at all. She can write in any genre, any style, and she still hasn't won SOTY. How is that possible?
