Did another lil book re-binding project, this time for a thrifted paperback copy of Book Lovers by Emily Henry!

I couldn't find a perfect fabric for it locally but I do think this one has a lovely vibe and part of the book (including one of the dramatic scenes) does take place in NYC so I went with this winter in New York pattern and I like it!

hey!! I lovedddd Ella Enchanted as a kid but i haven’t read it since I was 13- do you think it’s still enjoyable as an adult? I’m sometimes hesitant to reread beloved books just in case I don’t like them as much an ruin the memory ahah

oh absolutely! for me personally, it has been so enjoyable to explore my childhood favorite. i think it gives me a larger appreciation of myself and my taste and also helps me connect with my younger self and develop another relationship with the text in addition to my old relationship.

ella enchanted is special even here, i read it 3 times in like 7 months last year and was able to articulate why i loved it as a kid and love it all over again as an adult. my mom read it for the first time as an adult and stil loves it to this day, so even without nostalgia, it stands on its own

beach day and moby dick

i've always wanted to read moby dick near the sea for the vibes or smth so i intentionally put off starting the book until i had my next trip to the beach. loved it! but i wanted to savor the book so i didn't speedrun it, and it is a really long book.

hey lüv!! wow I didn’t realise this ask game was still going around- it has been here ever since I can remember!

little joys coming right up:

1. When the temp is a perfect warm but not too warm, so when you spread your room temperature butter the texture is so smooth and doesn’t clump on the bread

2. cats all the time but also specifically when they stretch their little paws and then curl them around like their about to hold your finger

3. when I tell a superb joke and make someone laugh 😎

4. good ice cream I fucking love ice cream, a recent fave of mine is cookie dough, which I used to think was overrated but is very very good

5. talking and chatting and yapping about a good book or tv show or movie with a friend

Time to get off Tumblr and get a bit of reading in. The book is "The Ministry for the Future" and I'm very much enjoying it, it's really energizing me for doing what I can to help with the ongoing/upcoming climate crisis.
