Table of Plenty - A Spell of Providence
Tumblr media
Then the wise woman said, “Wipe away thy tears, Two-eyes, and I will tell thee something to stop thee ever suffering from hunger again. Just say to thy goat “Bleat, my little goat, bleat. Cover the table with something to eat!” and then a clean well-spread little table will stand before thee, with the most delicious food upon it of which thou mayst eat as much as thou art inclined for. And when thou hast had enough, and hast no more need of the little table, just say “Bleat, bleat, my little goat, I pray, And take the table quite away. Then it will vanish again from thy sight.” Hereupon the wise woman departed.
- One-Eye, Two-Eyes, and Three-Eyes
Intent: To obtain needed money or provisions.
Materials:
Paper and a writing utensil
A pinch or two of rice
A white candle (a taper or chime candle is best)
Ideal Timing: Waxing or Full Moon
This spell is not meant to bring great wealth or fancy possessions to the caster. It is to be used only to bring yourself or another something that is badly needed, particularly if unfortunate financial circumstances are making paying the bills or buying necessities difficult. It is meant to tide you over until your situation improves, and can be combined with or cast in addition to other money-drawing or prosperity spells where needed. As such, the materials are as simple as possible.
Write what you need on the paper. The list can be as long or as short as you need it to be, but the more specific you are, the better the spell will work. Be sure that you only ask for what you really need. A little excess is fine, in case of something unexpected, but don’t go overboard.
Fold the paper into a small packet with the rice inside and place it in a fire-safe dish. Light the white candle and carefully drip wax onto the packet, turning it until it is completely covered on all sides. (I suggest using tweezers or a pencil to turn the packet so you don’t burn your fingers.)
As you drip the wax onto the packet, chant seven times:
Blesséd rice and words of power, Aid me in my needful hour. Hear my cry, I pray you heed, The help I ask comes not from greed.
Hide the packet away somewhere it won’t be disturbed. If you have a few coins to hide with it in a jar or crock, so much the better.
Once your circumstances have improved and you are once more back on your feet, retrieve the packet and burn it in a fire-safe dish. Recite over the flames:
You gave me help when I had none; You have my thanks, your work is done.
The spell may be repeated as often as you have need.

Watching the DnD movie, I starting thinking about the hypothetical campaign was the movie was adapting and what the metanarrative behind the curtain was
I think Edgin and Holga's players came up with their backstories together, and the DM came up with the Invisibility Amulet to let Kira be a part of the team without being a pain in the ass. The DM regretted that about five seconds later
Simon's player definitely knows the most about the lore and everyone's kinda expecting him to DM next
Forge's player had to drop out of the campaign but wanted to stay involved. He and the DM conspired to have forge join forces with the villain and betray the party, transitioning into a NPC. He and the dm still text about Forge's schemes
Doric's player filled Forge's spot when he left. She and Simon's player are IRL dating and Doric's "meh" attitude to Simon's courting is part of the joke.
Xenk's player is the DM's buddy from college who's in town for the weekend. He hasn't played since college but this little taste has gotten him back in and he's going to start his own campaign.

That post about death note being “everyone’s first anime” (untrue statement) made me curious and now I want to gather data for science
Can you reblog this and tell me where are you from and what was your starter anime?

coming from an autistic person, here are some things that MAY mean you’re autistic.
-you had abnormal & intense interests when you were a young child (even 7 and under). for example: pirates of the caribbean, wilderness survival, fighter jets, etc.
-you were called “quirky” as a kid. in the tone that’s a polite way of saying “weird.”
-as a kid, you got along much better with adults or older kids instead of your peers. perhaps you were called an “old soul.”
-a lot of your peers didn’t/don’t like you, and you didn’t/don’t know why.
-you walked on your toes as a kid, maybe you still do.
-your body movements can be described as “stiff” and it’s noticeably different from your peers. especially as a kid.
-you tend to have a monotone voice unless you forcibly emote.
-you had a very rich inner world as a child. for example, preferring to talk to your imaginary friends, even as you passed the “typical” age for that.
-you talked/talk to trees or other inanimate objects.
-you have bad proprioception, which means you have a hard time knowing where your body is in space. this can manifest as clumsiness, bad hand-eye coordination, bumping into walls or tables, misjudging distances, etc.
-you crave stimulation such as spinning around, rocking back and forth, hanging upside down, etc.
-you have bad auditory processing skills. for example, when someone speaks to you, you HEAR them perfectly well, but it may take you longer to PROCESS/UNDERSTAND what they say.
-you often speak too loudly or too softly without realizing it.
-you are bothered by things that other people tune out or don’t notice. for example: the sound of electricity or your own heartbeat, tags on clothing, sock seams, slightly flashing lights, traffic, the texture of your skin, etc.
-pretend play was difficult or impossible for you as a child.
-you practice/practiced smiling, small talk, facial expressions, etc in the mirror.
-you mimic what the people around you do in conversation, or in any social situation, to help you fit in.
-you often express yourself by quoting lines from your favorite media. more than just for fun - to a level where people don’t just laugh along and “get it,” but think you’re weird or don’t understand what you mean.
-you have a difficult time regulating your body temperature, and might swing between being too hot and too cold even though the actual temperature hasn’t changed.
-you have an unusually high pain tolerance. alternatively, you may have an unusually low pain tolerance.
-you can’t stand or sit still. you are always swaying and/or shifting your weight from one foot to the other.
-you have bad interoception, which means you often don’t realize that you are hungry or thirsty or need to use the bathroom until the sensation is painful.

Downloading my shit off D&D Beyond and cancelling my subscription. Time to go back to my fucking roots.
If you haven't been following the OGL 1.1 debacle - it's gotten worse! They want to lock D&D Beyond behind a 30$ month subscription, with different tiers, with the lowest not allowing you to use homebrew - as if their shitty ass books offer you anything substantial to run a campaign from. They've been putting everything on the DM's for a long time. They'll also be offering what is essentially a 'game pass', and wanting to offer stripped down AI-DMs. If AI art pisses you off, then so should this.
If you have one, cancel your sub and download the PDF's of anything you've bought/made on D&D Beyond. Don't go see the movie. They need to get a good slap around the head for this.
