i envy ppl who can provide deep analysis about their favorite media and/or characters b/c whenever i like something a lot it looks like:

#its all fun and games being a character analysit until your favorite media is your d&d game and then you only have an audience of like 3 #and they don't understand the narrative significance of the tiny thing your character does because its related to secrets they Cant know #my little blorbos are swimming around in my head and there are only 5 people in the world that care

Hey so younger me you have chronic pain and a hypermobility syndrome

Me: *has horrible problems with my left wrist from drawing on my phone all day*

Me: *fixes it by being careful to strech my hand out periodically* :D pog now my wrist doesn't hurt so bad i can't use it every other week!!

Me: *starts doing a ton of traditional art*

My right wrist: *is in pain bc i didn't think to stretch whike drawing cause it was all my right hand*

NEW D&D CHARACTER NUMBER 1628394!!!!!

God I'm sure you're all sick and tired of me at this point lol I like how I say you all as if there's more than 3 people who see or care if I post anymore lmao

Anyway!! This is my newest character! A "Human" Bard by the name of Reilar Atlas von Keshvwell!

Unlike other bards by their trade and stereotype, he actually is less of a musician, and much more of a journalist, or chronicler! He lives for stories of heros and scours the world for truths

He's of a high nobel class from a very respected family! His father a notable inventor, his mother a lovely darling musician, and his twin brother who is his best friend and confidant in everything- that is if Rei ever could keep his mouth shut long enough to actually have any secrets. He loves them all dearly, and they love him in return in equal measure.

But of course, a bright happy boy, is not a bright happy boy for long when left in my care :)

More on Rei if you ask, but for now I'll leave it here!

UPDATE!!!

I'm currently in London rn, but we've completed our mission of playing in the world championships!!!!

We placed 14th out of 23 bands over all, and got 9th in drumming!!!!

Especially considering that most of the bands that placed above us SHOULD have probably been placed in a higher grade, we did fucking KILLER!!!!

To top that, SFU (a grade 1 band aka the highest rank you can get up to) took 1st in drumming!!!! As a band we have four alumni competitors playing in SFU, 2 that are instructors- all drummers!!!! In fact SFU's bass drummer has been teaching me since I was about 11 years old :D

Anyway all this to say- I had a ton of fun!! We did well and so did all the other bands!! And my trip is only like half over- I'm spending another week in Paris and then another week in Iceland on the way home

I'm very excited :D

Okay I know I said like a week ago that I wanted to start being more active, but then I got like really fucking busy pretty much immediately after posting that soooo

Rundown:

Last competition season for me before I leave my band (every single weekend this month + two practices a week)

My brother got married (my mother was wedding planner and we were doing a lot of it from scratch)

I'm flying to Scotland in- let me count- six fucking days because our band is going to compete in the world championships over there (bagpiping championships- we're competing in grade 4A against 26 other bands and are the only US band competing in that grade level)

I have family things going on

I have other things going on regarding other significant relationships of mine

I work an 8 hour job 3 days a week

That ties in all my stress in a neat little bow now doesn't it :D

And yeah some of it doesn't sound that bad, but all added up it's been a lot of stress, and I haven't had a truly free day in about 2 months

Anyway so yeah!!

I have not done a whole lot of art lately, but there is a little so I'll put that under the cut here

It is a wild thrown together spew of art, and unfortunately yes, this is all I have gotten done since last I posted anything art related, or if I did get anything else done, it was too long ago for me to remember...

Three are from The Weave of Silence campaign, two are from the Dragon Souls campaign, one is from my new Forgotten Realms campaign, and one is because Outer Wilds had and now always will have me by throat (best fucking game ever)

And for those who have been around a good long while, may recognize a couple of these guys....maybe........

So if you're asking yourself, "Rory!!! Are those Jynx and Twikk?!" The answer is yes!!!! I have reestablished them as characters in The Weave of Silence! THE BOYS ARE BACK BAYBEE!!!!

In all realness though, yeah! I brought them back out cause I love them so much, and I was getting a little bored of playing Callahan tbh. But don't worry! Our big green-sweatered friend is not gone for good, I promise. I just needed a break

I'd tell you more about the boys and how they got integrated into the campaign and how they're getting along with other players, but its almost 3 am for me now, so I'll save that for if anyone asks about them

Sorry it's been so long folks!! I'll probably continue to not be active during August (see: I'm traveling to Scotland the whole month and will be competing in the worlds there and therefore very bust and stressed) but things will calm down after that so hopefully I'll get my groove back

I had a wonderful day yesterday though!!! Me and my best friend hung out in the morning just chit chatting and wandering round the mall, then I went on a hike with my boyfriend and it was muddy and wet and it kinda was raining a little bit but neither of us cared, then me and him ran over to have dinner with my family and then us and some of the older folks all went and did a cthulu themed escape room! We won, though we did end up having to hit snooze on cthulu lmao

Over all it was a fantastic amazing day and I had a fucking blast!! I'm so so glad you messaged me- it was the first thing I woke up to yesterday btw- it made my entire day 💛💛💛💛💛💛
