Hinata hadn't set foot on the pier since her Dad died.

Too many memories.

Fishing used to be their shared pastime. They'd chat and laugh together, sometimes take the little boat out to sea when the weather was nice.

That morning, Hinata brought along her old fishing rod and put bait to hook for the first time in six months.

Her eyes were full of tears as she gazed out over the water, quickly dried by the wind.

They were bittersweet tears. As much as it hurt to be there on her own, it also made her feel close to her father, in a way.

To her surprise, she managed to catch a largemouth bass within the first ten minutes or so. Her favorite.

Maybe she was being superstitious after that strange night she had, but it almost felt like a sign.

A sign that she'd be alright.

Rather than a wall, Akari's fist connected with Yoshitoshi Utagawa's jaw instead.

Ursula: "Get 'er, Toshi!"

It felt good, to let out that pent-up frustration, and Akari was too drunk to care who she used as her punching bag.

For her part, Yoshitoshi did care, and unlike Akari, she was still fairly sober.

She also used to be a dancer; she was quick, nimble, light on her feet and stronger than she looked.

It didn't take her long to knock the "world-famous artist" on her backside, much to the amusement of Ryuji Kokei. This was the funniest fucking thing he'd seen in months!

Chiyo tactfully turned a blind eye. She hated it, but maybe this was the metaphorical (and literal) kick in the ass Akari needed to get her act together, since well-meaning words obviously fell on deaf ears.

At this point, most people would have tried to salvage what remained of their pride and stagger back home, but not Akari Hiwatari.

Instead, she dusted herself off and decided to give Ursula Willis a piece of her mind too.

A: "Thought that was funny, did you, miss Washed Up Writer?"

U: "Oww! Hey! Stop it! Just because you got your ass kicked -"

A: "She fights dirty - I'll remember that next time."

U: "You're a menace, did you know that? Go home and sober up or I'm calling the cops...or whatever!"

Ursula wasn't sure Nekojima had a police force, but would find someone to deal with Hiwatari's drunk ass! The woman had completely lost it!

She had better check to make sure Toshi was okay...

Hinata wanted to put her restless night behind her, with its disturbing dreams of deep places devoid of light and air, and that presence clawing, grasping for her, gurgling unintelligible words from a waterlogged throat.

Coming to terms with her father's death had not been easy, and in many ways Hinata wasn't there yet, but imagining that he was at peace, in Toomo's embrace, had been a source of comfort.

The possibility that may not actually be true was too awful to contemplate.

To take her mind off it, and since it was nearly the weekend, Hinata accepted Miko's offer for an outing at the local karaoke bar.

A nice, chill, stress-free evening.

Akari Hiwatari had been sitting at the bar since early that afternoon, downing one glass after another. As the evening wore on, the famous artist's mood soured by the hour, to the point where the other patrons had started giving her a wide berth.

Chiyo Nagata wasn't sure if it was the attitude, or the alcohol fumes rising off her which were putting people off the most.

A: "Pour me 'nother one of those. Then leave the bottle."

Chiyo bit her lip.

C: "I'm not sure you should be drinking any more right now, Hiwatari-sensei. How about I get you a nice, big glass of water -"

A: "Spare me the bartenderly concern and just get me my drink!"

C: "I'm sorry, sensei, but I reserve the right to refuse service to anyone who comes in here."

"Listen, I'm just trying to look out for you."

Pah! Sanctimonious little bitch - if this wasn't the only place to drink on this fucking island, I wouldn't have to put up with this bullshit!

Akari was very drunk, and angry enough to punch a wall.

N: "'Sup, Hinata?"

H: "You know...same old same old." *yawn*

N: "Are you sure? Cuz you look like you've been up all night, and I'm the senior who should be studying for her finals."

H: "No, I wasn't, it's...I don't know. I had these really weird dreams and when I woke up the room was practically flooded so I had to mop that up, so now I'll have to skip breakfast or be late for school."

N: "Hmm...weird dreams, water everywhere...did you also experience any other...unexplained phenomena? Cold air pockets, objects floating?"

H: "Wait, what are you trying to say? That a ghost did this?"

N: "I'm not saying anything, yet."

H: "Good, because my little brother seems to think he saw our dad's ghost and I had to convince him that's just not possible! Dad died at sea!"

N: "Hmmm..."

H: "What? Hmmm what?"

N: "Nothing. It was probably just a localized etheric storm; this island's prone to them. But do let me know if any more weird stuff happens, yeah?"

S: "It's not a joke! I can see him!"

M: "Hinata..."

S: "I'm telling you, it's him!"

H: "Shouta! Stop it!"

Nobody slept well that night, tossing and turning in the grip of strange dreams of lightless watery depths, and of someone - or something - desperately trying to reach out.

Lin awoke with a start to find her bedroom inexplicably flooded. The disturbing dreams were already fading from her memory as she grabbed the mop and a bucket, evaporating like mist before the morning sun.

M: "By the way, I meant to ask...will you team up with me for the history project? Pretty please?"

H: "I thought you'd already teamed up with Kokei-san."

M: *sigh* "Ryuji-kun decided he wanted to do the project solo."

H: "More like not do it at all. Meanwhile, I was your fallback option in case he bailed, huh?"

M: "Hina-chan, you are never that!"

L: "Hello. Yes, this is Lin. How are you, Yoshiku-san?"

EDIT: @jacky93sims was kind enough to look into this and found a fix, you should definitely get the updated counter from the original Retro Korea Kitchen upload page HERE!

OK so I have a problem I have been trying to solve but I just don't know how.

This Retro Korean Kitchen is absolutely lovely but the counter seems to be causing an issue with the Moris' cat, Lucky. :/ Basically the moment he is left idle he errors out and sinks into the ground, giving me this error message. Annoyingly it happens consistently within seconds of him idling no matter where he is, so not just when he's trying to jump on the counter or something.

It's definitely that counter, because the problem goes away once I remove it. It's a shame, because it's a really nice set!

Does anyone have an idea how I might be able to fix it? I'm afraid I just don't know enough about the inner workings of objects, especially counters!

Hood swapping! All the Pleasantview sims transported into Strangetown and vice versa.

Hood ideas I haven't seen before that I would love the time to pursue:

- Only the premade YAs

- Only the premade bin Sims

- Only the Pleasantview townies, all playable and randomly assigned relationships/family/households

- A neighbourhood entirely of Servos

- A neighbourhood with one randomly selected family from each uberhood neighbourhood

- A legacy that starts with Kaylynn Langerak

@antisocialbunnysims Interesting, so this is definitely an issue with cc counters then. Glad I'm not the only one; if no fix is forthcoming ,I guess I'll have to swap them out next round (even though that will spoil the ~aesthetic~ a bit, the bugged cat is starting to stress me out.)
