Favorite thing about renaissance faires is that they have fuck all to to with the renaissance. This thang is not about historical anything this is about dressing up like a fairy and watching a joust
reminder that coming up with some fake little dudes and creating intricate storylines in your head is a completely free and fun way to pass the time and the government can't stop you
TikTok has convinced so many people that you're autistic or ADHD if you have completely typical experiences like "getting songs stuck in your head" or "having a strong sense of social justice" or "reverently kissing the ice-cold crown of the crow lord". No, you do not need to have autism to squeeze your eyes shut and stand completely still as a living statue to demonstrate your total submission to the crow lord. Plenty of neurotypical people bring him tributes of glass beads, tinfoil strips, roadkill, coins from dead men's pockets, and mice or rabbits fattened weeks in advance. Honestly TikTok has become such a dangerous engine for spreading misinformation. I wouldn't be surprised if they provoke the wrath of the crow lord soon.
had a dream i posted a poll to this blog that was like 'DECIDE MY FUTURE' and the options were 'banishment' 'beheading' 'sent to sea' 'become medieval reenactor' 'titanic' and i was out front trying to desperately rally for being sent to sea when everyone kept voting beheading
Men love me for my cadaver swag. The way my skin is cold like a corpse, my off-putting demeanor, and the way I stand in the threshold of the still-living and the dead.
Maybe part of the reason why i dont get the issue with ship popularity stuff is because, when i WAS a teen in fandom, i was a chronic crackshipper. I couldnt be mad about popular ships because *every ship* was more popular than whatever the fuck i cooked up. But it was always extremely fun and exciting whenever i found the random piece of art or fic someone else made that was my crack ship, though.
My favorite fandom? Either the one my wife and i made up six years ago with our ocs. Ooh, or maybe the one my wife and i made up twelve years ago with our ocs! Or maybe… Aw man, how can i possibly choose...?
At the end of the day though im a big “the ideal fandom is the one you have with you and your friends + especially if the characters are your own cus everyone is right and everyone is happy” advocate.
