i see posts here about how people are so mortified when they are acknowledged as being a regular customer somewhere that they never return. cowards. the employees at taco bell treat me like a celebrity. like royalty. i am their strange little pet customer who gets traded along as staff comes and goes. they know my car before i even speak in the drive-thru speaker. today i was 2 hours late and she ran over and squealed that she "thought i'd left them!" and that she "made my order with extra love!" and you what, she did

one detail that i love is that lisa is less doctor frankenstein but more mary shelley despite the movie's title. lisa's introduction is her stone rubbing the creature's headstone while mary learned to write using her mother's gravestone. lisa isn't a scientist she's a seamstress which is closer to mary's profession as a writer. they're women who lost their mothers at a young age and were outcasts in their respective societies. both having an odd relationship with death, finding love and comfort in it. mary connects with her mother through her grave like how lisa does with the creature's. at it's core it's a movie about grief and the non-finality of death.
it's also a campy movie about a devoted zombie romantic who would chop dicks off for their goth wife which i think stays true to the spirit of mary shelley.

Six Sentence Sunday
I've been revamping the Traitors au I started in 2022!! This time it's got uk1-5 represented, and hopefully will be quite fun if there is interest!! Please let me know if you like it 😊
“Is there anyone you think is a Traitor?” Dakota asked, but Veronica groaned.
“Well, how exactly would you know? Especially at this stage. It's one day in, Blu's been murdered, and we've only done two tasks; we dont even know how the Round Table will work yet!”
Joe didn't blink, didn't look away from Veronica, hoping she would continue to speak without any further prompting, but when the silence stretched a little too thin around them she took another sip of her glass of Traitor’s Tipple and put it down on the arm of the chair, waving her hand at the rest of them.
“So?”
“So what?” Ella asked.
“So what do you lot all think?”
“I,” Joe began, but before he could think of anything, of any paper-thin excuse to end someone's time here, Tomara piped up again.
“There's Viv - she didn't even raise her glass at the Round Table last night to toast to the Faithful - it's true!” Tomara sniggered at the incredulous faces now pointing towards her. “Cara told me, and Tayce told her, and I think she said someone else told Tayce last night -”
“That's not a reason though,” Veronica said wearily, “that could just be because it was empty! She could have even misheard!”
“It might not even be true. It might just be something Tayce made up if she's a Traitor,” Dakota murmured, to an emphatic nod from Tia and Ella.
“Who has anyone else mentioned?” Joe asked.
The others all abruptly stopped speaking, like a TV being set to mute, and Joe's stomach dropped to the floor.
“Me?”
"Not from us," Tomara shook her head, waving her hands, "But Victoria and Vanity and Cheryl, well, they all mentioned you."
Ella grimaced. “What made you take your team towards the treehouse instead of the forest in the -?”
“I misread the clue, that's all,” Joe said, for maybe the third time today, straightening his back. “I missed the old tree bit, I just saw the home bit. But I'm not a Traitor. It was just a mistake."
But the questioning glances towards him, the uncertainty in all of their eyes, made his chest hurt with a sudden, rushing sense of inevitable betrayal.
"I'm a Faithful." His voice was tight, like something hard was pressed against his voicebox.
But beside him, Veronica's hand wound into his forearm and gave it a squeeze, and her murmured "I believe you," made him manage a wan smile in response.

2023 Nativity Scene at the Evangelical Lutheran Christmas Church, Bethlehem, Palestine
"In Gaza today, God is under the rubble. He is in the operating room. If Christ were to be born today, he would be born under the rubble. We see his image in every child killed and pulled from under the rubble. In every child in incubators," writes Rev. Munther Isaac of the church.
