Wild Area Event Finale - Oops, All Gigantamax!

From now until the end of service, the Wild Area News will feature most of the base-game Gigantamax Pokemon at five stars, including ones not normally available. (One through four stars is just early route stuff and Ditto)

Notable Pokemon:

Gigantamax Snorlax, normally not available in Gigantamax form outside the DLC, is appearing in the wild in both games.

Gigantamax Toxtricity, normally not available in Gigantamax form outside the DLC, is appearing in the wild in both games.

Gigantamax Appletun, normally exclusive to Shield, is appearing in both games.

Gigantamax Flapple, normally exclusive to Sword, is appearing in both games.

Starting today, Pokemon fans in the US and Canada can receive codes for Genesect and Volcanion (presumably at Gamestop? As of writing, my source didn't specify).

This event lasts until October 29th.

Following this event, Marshadow will be distributed.

Sword/Shield WiFi Competition - Ultimate Finale - Registration

Signups have begun for the final WiFi competition of Sword/Shield - called Ultimate Finale. This will be a Double Battle competition doing full 6-on-6 matches. There are no Pokemon or item restrictions, meaning any (battle ready) Pokemon can be used including Mythicals, you can you multiples of the same Pokemon, and you can use multiples of the same item.

Signups last until October 27th and battles begin on October 28th.

All participants will get 50 BP.

Spoiler Alert - Nintendo Survey Email

Heads up that Nintendo is sending out survey emails about Scarlet/Violet (starts out asking you your opinion on open world games then shifts to Pokemon).

This survey includes descriptions of new features in Scarlet/Violet and images of various new Pokemon. It's all stuff that's been revealed in marketing.

So be forewarned, that's a thing.

Starting tomorrow, September 9, 2022, and going through September 30th, 2022, Pokemon fans in Europe and the UK will be able to get codes at certain local game stores for Genesect, Volcanion, and Marshadow, all on the same code card.

Known locations are:

GAME in the UK/Spain

Gamestop in Italy/Ireland/Germany

Micromania in France

GameMania in the Netherlands/Belgium

If you are not in one of those locations, be sure to check your local equivalent to see if they are distributing them!

It is currently unknown if there will be a US distribution of these Pokemon.

For no reason I can discern, several pill-shaped Pokemon are available through Raid battles throughout the Wild Area and DLCs. This event will go until September 19th, 2022.

Notable Pokemon:

- Shiny Snom is appearing more commonly than usual.

...And that's about it. All three Pokemon are already in the base game and not version exclusive.

They do all give out high-value sellable items, though.
