Yay!! Thanks!! It’ll probably have to be split into two (or possibly even three) volumes to not be ridiculously thick. I’ve been toying with ideas for when to have the split. First volume ending right with the claiming of Vermithor? (That felt like a huge turning point!) Or when Rhaenyra claims the throne? (Also so important!) Dragonstone era v Kingslanding era is kind of what I was thinking! @bbygirl-aemond Do you have thoughts on this? :D Or any fellow fans with ideas for when to split? Thematic split more important than being in the exact middle!
Also somewhere in here I will post my drawings of Aemond Rhaenyra and Daemon in their outfits from the Faith Wedding! They’re almost done but I can’t stop nitpicking little things lol. But Stormbreak is so inspiring. I want to make all the art after reading it 😍
I’m not sure I’ll actually finish the project (ADHD for the win) but would you mind if I make a fanbinding of Stormbreak? I want to keep Stormbreak on my bookshelf 😍 If I do complete it I’d be happy to send a copy to you if you would want one!
mind??? i think i would cry actual happy tears, that's so amazing! lowkey i'd love a tangible copy of stormbreak. not even to read but just to occasionally pick up and be like "damn i really wrote all that huh" bc i can't even imagine how big that thing would be in person haha!

I recently started looking into fanbinding and have become obsessed with designing covers for and having some of my all time favorite fanfics on my bookshelf. The first one I’m working on designing now is the amazing “With a Crown of Stars” by thehoyden who has given their permission for a fanbinding.
I’m still waiting on gathering materials to begin the actual printing and bookbinding process, but I had fun working on a cover design today! I think they turned out pretty great. I doubt the actual cover I make for the fanbinding will be quite as intricate — some will depending on what materials I end up using— but I’m pretty happy with how this design turned out regardless.
@thehoyden , thanks for writing such a great story and inspiring me to draw!

Burn The Land And Boil The Sea (You Can't Take My Son From Me) - Sketchbook Page
I realised I hadn't posted my sketchbook page of some fanart I did for the fantastic fanfic by @polkadotdragonx which is an MDZS/Firefly crossover. I am low key obsessed with it and have plans to create other pieces of fanart from it. To start with though, I worked off a design the author had given us for Jiang Cheng and Wei Wuxian, designed 'The Lotus' Firefly Class Ship, and altered the Serenity Logo to be a Lotus one. This fic gives me so many found family feels, and is a clear love letter to both MDZS and Firefly. Created with: Graphitint Watercolours, grey markers, and pencil crayon.

Omg amazing! 😂 I love it so much!!
For the kiss meme! Wei Wuxian/Wen Qing, laughter?
(I'm so sorry, friend, this course of action took my brain over & refused to let me go.)
"Qing jiějiě!" Wei Wuxian shouts, bursting into the mess. "Jiang Cheng has brought it to my attention that we need to work out the unbearable sexual tension between us."
"Did he, now?" Wen Qing cuts her eyes at their captain and her... boyfriend? They haven't really discussed what they are to each other yet, for all she's been spending about half her nights in his bunk. At present, he's sputtering, a flush high up on his cheekbones.
"Because of all our shared history, you know," Wei Wuxian says, voice serious but the corners of his mouth twitching. "All those years on the Burial Mounds, living in each other's pockets."
Wen Qing casts Jiang Cheng another scathing look before rising from her chair and twining her arms around Wei Wuxian's neck. "Of course, if our captain says so, we should obey," she agrees dryly, fluttering her eyelashes exaggeratedly at their engineer and her best friend. "It won't do to have unbearable sexual tension disrupting the workings of the ship."
"Now, see here—” Jiang Cheng sputters.
Wei Wuxian dips Wen Qing into a dramatic bend, smacking a loud kiss onto her lips. They stay there for a moment in tableau, looking in each other's eyes from centimetres away, before Wen Qing breaks and collapses into giggles. Wei Wuxian nearly drops her when he cracks up as well, but he hurriedly rights them both before sinking down onto the Lotus's deck, helpless with laughter.

BIG SIBS FIC BIG SIBS FIC BIG SIBS FIC YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YES!!!!! :D :D :D
Have another preview :DDD
“What,” Nie Mingjue sputters. “You stayed with Wens?!”
Jiang Yanli nods. “The office is run by, or at least was run by, Wen Ning’s older sister Wen Qing. You may have heard of her. She was quite well known before the war for her prodigal medical skills,” she explains. “Though Wen Qing was initially very angry at her brother for bringing us there, she still spent a day and night healing a-Cheng without rest.” She doesn’t mention the lost core or all of a-Xian’s and Wen Qing’s fevered efforts to find a cure. The fewer who know that a-Xian can find Baoshan-sanren, the better. Her voice drops to softer level. “I don’t know if we would have made it without her help.” Jiang Yanli still remembers pulling Wen Qing away to eat, reminding the doctor that she still needed sleep too. She had watched Wen Qing often, in their time there. The woman was strong, principled, and beautiful. Yet she had also been extremely kind, even if more in deed than word. After a lifetime with a-Cheng, Jiang Yanli is used to seeing the heart beneath sharp words.
Nie Mingjue narrows his eyes. “You want me to spare them,” he guesses.

So I’ve started something?!?! Cause I read your prompt and was immediately, like YES I WANT THIS. Wen Qing, Jiang Yanli, and Nie Mingjue would make the best supportive big sibling marriage ever. Big sibs unite!
Here’s a preview under the cut! (Unfortunately devoid of Wen Qing to start, but she’ll come in shortly!). Set right after Jin Zixuan proves himself to be an idiot once again and insults Jiang Yanli.
Nie Mingjue had really not intended on getting involved in an argument between the Jin and the Jiang. They’re in the middle of a war, a war that, despite what the other clans say, the Nie have been fighting for over a decade. Nie Mingjue just returned from battle himself, he aches all over and probably needs to wash off blood and dirt. So all in all, he really just wants to go back to his room and take a hot bath. But when he literally runs into Jiang-guniang, tears still drying on her cheeks, his protective instincts are immediately alert.
(And maybe Huaisang has been taking advantage of his reaction to people crying for years. Even when Nie Mingjue can tell his didi’s fake tears from real ones, he can’t help the instinctive urge to make it better.)
So when Nie Mingjue looks down at who bumped into him and sees Jiang- guniang’s red eyes and tear-stained cheeks, the first thing he says isn’t a reasonable, ‘Excuse me, Jiang-guniang,’ before continuing to his much deserved bath, but the instinctual, “Do you need me to beat someone up?”
Been thinking about the fic I’m never gonna write for the big sibling ot3 of my dreams, Jiang Yanli/Wen Qing/Nie Mingjue. Three of the most sensible and loyal people in canon, who could all really do with some good things happening for once. Wouldn’t it be nice if instead of having to look after other people all the time, they could have someone to look after them? Or maybe even… two someones? 👀
(Please for the love of everything someone write fic for them, I know my galaxybrain is huge but I can’t be the only one who sees the potential)
If I were ever going to write it, it might start something like this:
Takes place after the Sunshot Campaign. The Jiang clan is in desperate need of assistance; Jiang Yanli’s engagement to Jin Zixuan is still broken off, and her brothers aren’t exactly anxious for them to get engaged again, given Jin Zixuan’s history of behavior toward their sister.
Over in Qinghe, Nie Mingjue is a war hero. Nie Huaisang is proud of him and worried about him in equal measure.
“Da-ge, you were about two minutes away from qi deviation for awhile there, and then where would I be? You know I’d be terrible as sect leader.”
Nie Huaisang comes up with a solution that will benefit his Jiang clan friends as well as his brother: a marriage that will allow the Nie clan to lend the struggling Jiang clan the strength and support that they sorely need, and give his brother a partner, a shoulder to lean on, a trusted advisor. He remembers Jiang Yanli from their days at Gusu as a kind, loyal, sensible person who takes care of those she loves. Who better to support Nie Mingjue and perhaps temper the ever-growing anger and resentment inside him?
So an engagement is proposed and accepted. Jiang Cheng and Wei Wuxian grew to know and respect Nie Mingjue during Sunshot, and they see the way he acts towards his brother. He’s gruff but not cruel or unkind; Jiang Yanli could certainly do worse, and she’s willing to part from her brothers for the good of the clan.
Fast forward to Wei Wuxian finding Wen Qing. Does he still act alone, or does he have the support of the Nie clan in finding Wen Ning and the Wen remnants? I think Nie Mingjue, at Jiang Yanli’s urging, does support him to an extent and sends some of his disciples along to find the refugee camp. Long story short, plot stuff happens that leads to the remaining Wens needing help and protection that Wei Wuxian alone cannot provide.
Jiang Yanli remembers the talented young woman who helped save her brother’s life. Like so many people in Jiang Yanli’s life, Wen Qing is not warm or effusive, but she has a good heart and is loyal towards those she considers to be her own. Jiang Yanli remembers those bleak days in Yiling where hope had seemed a faraway dream, and thinks of the kindnesses Wen Qing offered her and her brothers.
“Sect leader Nie,” she says (for they are engaged but not yet married, and this man is still nearly a stranger), “is it true what they say, that in Qinghe a man may take two wives?”

@polkadotdragonx said: Platonic - Nie Huaisang and Jiang Yanli. Setting: During the sunshot campaign
Canon: The Untamed
Jiang Yanli didn’t know Nie Huaisang very well. He’d been close with A-Xian and A-Cheng during their time in the Cloud Recesses, but Jiang Yanli was older and had made her own friends at the time; she’d pretended ignorance of her brothers’ and Nie Huaisang’s antics, while engaging in some (much subtler and better-hidden) antics of her own. She had remained in touch with the young women who had been her friends from the lectures right up until the Wens came to Lotus Pier. Her last letter to Ouyang Anzheng had gone out right before she and her father left for Lanling.
Now, Yao Tan was dead, along with all of her clan except her uncle the sect leader and a few others, and Jiang Yanli had seen some of her old school friends entering the Unclean Realm with grim faces, bloodied robes. She had treated some of their wounds. She had felt useless in comparison to them, with her weak core that would never be suited to fighting.
So when Nie Huaisang ambled into the common space of the quarters Jiang Yanli shared with her brother, where Jiang Yanli was drawing up supply lists, she set aside her brush and smiled at the younger man. Here was another who was being kept away from the fighting. She could sympathize with that. “What can I do for you, Nie-er-gongzi?”
“Let me sit with you, Jiang-guniang?” he asked, bowing. “You can go back to doing your no doubt very important work for the campaign. I just…” He opened and closed his fan several times—quick, nervous gestures, like the birds she knew he admired. “I’m underfoot everywhere right now and I’m sick of being in my rooms.” “Of course,” Jiang Yanli said, gesturing for him to sit at her table. She poured him some tea from her own neglected teapot and then turned back to the matter of wrangling supplies for a moving army. After a long period of silence broken only by the rustling of papers—Nie Huaisang had apparently brought a book with him—and the soft sound of her brush as she wrote, Jiang Yanli looked up. “If you’d like,” she said tentatively, “tomorrow, I can have space set aside for your painting. I understand that the light in these rooms is not bad.”
Nie Huaisang’s face lit up at her words, a bright smile almost as uncomplicated as the ones back in Cloud Recesses. He reminded her so much of Wei Wuxian as he used to be that Jiang Yanli’s heart hurt. “That would be wonderful,” he said warmly. “Jiang-guniang is as kind as she is beautiful!”
Jiang Yanli laughed at him. “Don’t flatter me, Nie-er-gongzi,” she said, shaking her head with a grin. “I have no need for it.”

Fanart I did for theleakypen’s amazing ChengQing fic “But, After All, I Am A Wen.” It’s great, you should go read it! :D <3333 It gives me so many ChengQing feels that I have to go and draw for it :D Chapter 3 is up now and I’m so excited to see where the story goes!
First picture is a cover image with *the* comb centerpiece because it is such a lovely thread through the fic (and my god did the whole comb thing break my heart in canon). When the comb just came up in chapter 3... squeee. This one was a lot of fun to draw!
The second picture is a scene from chapter 1! :D In this one I challenged myself to actually draw a background, which I struggle with. But I’m quite happy with how it turned out.
Anyway, if you haven’t read the fic yet, you should! <333 There will probably be more fanart for in the future!
