Veera shut the door behind her. "I see you are busy," she commented, taking in the piles of books again.
"Yeah, well," Azra said. She still seemed closed-off. Likely she was wondering why Veera had come.
Veera smiled. "I was wondering if you wanted any help?"
Azra frowned at her. It hurt Veera's heart to see the wariness there. It hurt more to know it wasn't only from the dark future the Hunter had seen. Veera owned a part of it, here in this timeline. She took a deep breath. "I do not know what you are doing here." Cooping yourself up in a study room to read piles of books on who knows what- that was perhaps normal behavior for Veera, but certainly not for the Hunter. It would be natural to be concerned. "But… at this point, I think, you know how to take care of yourself. So. What do you need? What can I do to help?"

16 from the solo list with a character of your choice?
A magical trickster has trapped your character and will only set them free if they can beat the trickster at a game of their choice. What game does your character choose to play?
I'm going to throw out a few rapid-fire here:
Andal Brask - Poker
Cayde-6 - Poker, but with more cheating
Tevis Larsen - "Just sit there looking at it until it gets bored and leaves" (staring contest)
Shiro-4 - Either an Elliksni game he's leaned, or if he thinks the entity already knows the game, maybe Go.
Ikora Rey - Definitely Go.
Azra Jax - After about 70 questions to figure out the parameters of how this entity works and what constitutes a game, either an orienteering contest or Snap.
Veera - Old-School Tolkeinesque Riddle Contest
Sylas-4 - Chess
(That's all the ones I have Thoughtful answers for.)

Drifter wondered again: why the hell was someone so square looking for these tools? Why was she putting a component up for them even Spider didn't dare ask for? There was too much mystery here for such a straight actor. It seemed Azra Jax had learned some lessons from her brother about being an open book with the pages taped together.
He needed more information. "Share a drink with me and I'll sell 'em to you," Drifter announced. "Share two and I might even give ya a lil' discount."
Azra cocked an eyebrow.

Daytime reblog for the daytime people!
She ended up settling for just checking her caches in the Americas. It was still a meaty task, one that had her rolling up her sleeves and stretching her muscles in anticipation. The conversations in the past few days had left her feeling overwhelmed, more than eager to run away from society and the concerned faces of Cayde and Veera. Just her, the Wilds, and her Ghost.
Her Ghost, who was increasingly unsettled. His edginess poked at Azra like a stray metal shaving in her sock. He was working through something major, even as he helpfully pulled up coordinates and notes and arranged transmats. He didn't comment on it, so Azra politely ignored the feeling. She couldn't tell exactly what he was thinking about (prodding at their connection left that part of her mind feeling like burnt fingertips), but she could feel the thoughts churning. It wasn't unexpected when he announced, suddenly, "We need to talk."

Our journeys this year have taken us from destroyed pyramids ships to the depths of Titan’s oceans to the far reaches of Savathûn’s throne world- and they promise to take us beyond reality itself.  As the year comes to a close, let’s take a look back on everywhere we’ve been, and everywhere we have yet to go.  Our chronicle is a long one, but there are blank pages still, and stories yet to be written.
Destcember is a drawing and writing challenge based on the Destiny universe. This year our recollections have revealed 31 prompts (one for each day of December) but remember: we make our own stories. Take inspiration wherever you find it- and at whatever pace you see fit. Write about original or cannon characters, do prompts out of order, skip them where you don’t see that spark- just be sure to have fun!
Please use the #destcember2023 tag and leave a prompt number.

It seems Hunters can both create a Golden Gun of pure Light, as well as channel Solar energies through existing weapons. Here a Hunter is noted to be firing Solar bolts through a rifle:
And late in this lore entry we see Ana Bray do the same through 18 Kelvins, also notably not a hand cannon:
We also see Shaw Han empower some Frames with his Golden Gun, albeit in a more general Radiant way.
As for the Purple Golden Gun idea, Solar and Void are different aspects with different qualities to them. Void is very associated with gravity and death and permanence- I'd expect a void-empowered weapon to weaken enemies or make little black holes a la Graviton Lance instead of burning everything to a crisp like Solar does.
It's a little unclear in the lore exactly how flexible a Guardian's Light is. We certainly see characters do things unlike anything we can do in-game. There very well may be people running around making Void constructs that shoot bullets.
Is there an upper limit on the size of something you can imbue with light?
Cuz I think we should cast golden gun with one of the tower perimeter canons

😈 🙋‍♀️ 🧠 (Andal Brask)
Oh hey, fancy meeting you here.
Has there been a point in a story where you did something just to be playfully mean to your readers?
Cliffhangers are good for like, audience engagement, but they also produce the fun result of watching people go "a;sldfajsd;faf;sd whyyyyyyyy" and you can sit there cackling like a gremlin.
Do any irl people know you write fanfic?
My big sister does! Honestly she's been a huge inspiration throughout my life (both from 'wow you're so cool I want to do that too' awe and 'grrr I must do everything you do but better because the world automatically measures me against you' spite). That's about it, tho. Unless someone's holding out on me. >.>
Pick a character, and I'll tell you my favorite headcanon for them. - Andal Brask
I think he's a really smart person. Sure he's tactical, but also has a lot of social intelligence. That's why he was able to get such devotion from Cayde- and all of the other Hunters, if you're willing to indulge in some fandom lore. He was a good leader because he understood people and how they worked together- when someone needed a push, when they needed some leniency. And also because of this, he was a huge shipper. Absolutely unhinged. So many romantic hijinks orchestrated from the shadows.

What are some common things you incorporate in your fics? Themes, feels, scenes, imagery, etc.
IDK I'm always into grief, healing, and how we can define and redefine our own lives. You know, that good radical hope stuff. As for scenes/imagery, I'm also a big sucker for stunning vistas next to which the characters may have Character Moments. It's just good set dressing. Yeah sure maybe in the real world sometimes it's just dull and overcast and you're talking to your sibling outside of the grocery store, but why have that when you can have characters have their revelations next to a thematically appropriate sunset on a thematically appropriate cliff?

Azra repressed the urge to fidget, letting her eyes flit back around the circle. She was out of her element in the worst way. Speeches? Storytelling? The weight of all of the attention was suffocating. But unless she wanted to have this conversation a dozen different times with a dozen different people, this was the best option. No matter how much it made her itch to sit here with everyone staring at her.
She took a deep breath. "I think I finally put together what's happened." She looked at Ikora, at Praedyth and Shaxx. "It's more than you think."
"Start from the beginning," Ikora said soothingly.
In an earlier time, Azra would have leaned back and started cheekily regaling them the story of the birth of the Universe. Now, she hunched and rested her elbows on her knees. The beginning? "June fourth, twenty-nine sixty," she decided.

Hi! my turn for ask game- 2, 4, 81
2) talk about a notable time a narrative or character has looked you dead in the eyes and said “fuck your plan, here’s what we’re actually doing.”
Suraya Hawthorne and Azra did not get along. I thought there would be a little friction, but they are both stubborn in exactly the wrong ways. It took a lot more melodrama to break down those barriers than I had planned.
Currently? I have no idea how I'm going to get anyone to do Season of Arrivals stuff. Azra would just categorically Refuse to do anything that puts Spark at risk (and besides they are so close, there's a nonzero chance the Pyramids could get to her through him). And nobody's going to feel like pushing boundaries with her.
11) what’s something neat you’ve learned while doing research for something you were writing? also, how much do you worry about doing research in general?
The moon rises and sets based on its phase! It never clicked for me until I was trying to figure out a situation where the new moon might be in the night sky, only to learn that new moons categorically are never up at night. Waxing crescents will be setting as the sun sets, and then the moon will rise/set later and later until the full moon, which will be out all night. Then later and later until the waning crescent is rising just as the sun does. Never quite understood that before.
I try to do research for whatever is possible. A lot of it is very feasible to hand wave (future technology! Space magic!) but if it's easy for me to check what time the sun is rising on a given date, I might as well. I'll look up like, city locations and stuff, but I'm not going to do the math to see if the Indus River is expected to change course in the next few hundred years.
81) if you could go back in time and give your younger self a piece of writing advice specific to you, what would it be?
Do not kill the part of you that is cringe, kill the part of you that cringes.
There is a ton of very produced, wide-appeal media out there. And even very rote and played-out tropes/ideas can become new and interesting again when looked at through new eyes. Whatever you make will be worth sharing based on the merit of effort you put into it, so embrace that passion. Focus on what you think makes your work good and other people will, too.
Thanks for the ask!
